I recently finished watching Word of Honor, and it quickly became one of my all-time favorites. Wen Kexing is also one of my favorite characters in anything ever

One of the most underrated relationships in the show, in my opinion, is between WKX and Tragicomic Ghost. I’m dying to see more of their backstory. I came across a post suggesting that he learned to apply his iconic red eyeliner after seeing her do it, and I knew I had to draw it immediately

I definitely need to draw more for this show—especially Wenzhou, of course!

Xiang Haoting: "Xiang Hao Ting is a himbo with a heart of gold, started off on the wrong foot with Yu Xi Gu but fought to earn his trust and love, fought to be together with him and stay with him, earned his way into a top university (from being one of the worst students) just because that's the only way his parents would approve of his relationship, went from being completely wild to being in domestic bliss with Yu Xi Gu just for Yu Xi Gu to die and in a random accident just as their lives together started, right after they overcame all obstacles. Xiang Hao Ting did all the right things, grew to be someone deserving of Yu Xi Gu's love, was unwavering in the face of wave after wave of the world against their relationship, just for his love and happiness to be ripped away from him. All because of a bag of sugar and a forgotten wallet. He definitely deserved better than that."

Luo Fumeng: "betrayed by her lover and then framed for the murder of her whole family, her hair literally went all white from grief. and then she goes to the Ghost Valley and manages to make a name for herself as the Tragicomic Ghost, head of the Department of the Unfaithful, whose whole shtick is protecting women who are fleeing from abuse and then killing shitty men. anyways she has to go through the pain of being forced to remember all of the horrible things that had happened to her. and when she's made peace with it and is planning on settling in the Ghost Valley once the doors will be shut forever, an attack happens and she watches her most rusted servant and friend get killed and then she gets killed. for what? teaching shitty men to not attack women? she never gets a happy ending or a break. she spends like a third of the show in extremely poor health on account of the trauma and being close to a qi deviation. also had to watch a lot of her women in the department get killed."

ok I'm on episode 15-16 of WoH and here are my thoughts so far:

Gu Xiang is like if Jiang Cheng's daughter was also Wei Wuxian's protege. She's the worst of Jin Ling and Wei Wuxian put together and I love her.

She and Cao Weining are like Xuanli if Jiang Yanli had turned out the way Yu Ziyuan wanted her to.

Cao Weining!!! He's so endearing!!!!

I'm coming around on Wen Kexing. I totally didn't trust him before but it seems like he actually cares a lot about Zhou Zishu now. I believe they can work things out between them.

Chengling is my baby son and I hope nothing bad ever happens to him. I'm taking him and putting him in a cozy blanket nest and feeding him soup and hot cocoa.

I feel really bad for Gao Xiaolian. Poor girl. I want her to have a happy ending but it's not looking good for her at the moment.

Han Ying is totally gonna die I'm calling it now. He's too good and narratively convenient to live much longer.

Tragicomic Ghost and Liu Qianqiao are such a power duo. Yes queens kill those lame-ass men! I kinda don't like that they both seem to have tragic love stories with random middle-aged men who possibly abandoned them though.

I NEED to see more of Scorpion King. I keep seeing him in the opening (and closing?) credits and I'm fascinated by him but he's only had like 2 seconds of screentime so far and I'm so curious.

Just met Ye Baiyi and I'm not sure what to think about him. I feel like something really big has to happen for Zhou Zishu to change his mind about the life-saving surgery.

Shen Shen is really annoying. I hope bad things happen to him.

Thinking about how WoH is about cycles of abuse but also about cycles of love and about how even though the abuse may seem impossible to break away from it’s the love that’s more powerful and that it’s the loving that will break the cycle of abuse and that love and trauma are intrinsically linked and-
