Okay, Blindspotters, I have a question: what do we think happened to Emma Shaw’s necklace?

I just feel so bad for Emma Shaw. :( Losing her only child, and then being murdered for her connection to the child she helped raise - those are really the only two things we know about her.

I wonder if Sarah had any kind of relationship with Emma, or if her defence of her father meant she disliked Emma on principle. Thinking about it, it's a wonder Sarah and Kurt are as friendly as they are, given that they grew up on opposite sides of the 'Dad's a murderer' argument. I guess Kurt's protective side, and Sarah being the younger sibling, meant that there were no really terrible grudges between them.

Kind of makes me wonder what conversations they (Kurt and Sarah, and Kurt and Emma) had re: Bill Weller when Sarah had Sawyer, though.

If I had to pick one non-love-triangle plot point to erase from season two, it would be the fact that Roman killed Emma Shaw. Or specifically, the fact that Kurt only finds out and reacts to it within one episode, and then everything with Jeller is fine again.

Emma Shaw was so important to Kurt. She was family where his own family failed him, and the one person who never told him to get over Taylor's disappearance. And Kurt already has been hurt by Jane's secrecy/Remi's plan to tear open all his Taylor-related wounds.

It feels like that revelation should have come towards the start of season two, if it was even there at all, and added to all his baggage about Jane. Introducing it as a stumbling block between Jeller so close to the finale (even though Jane knew about it earlier) just trivialises what should have been a huge guilt spiral for Kurt - that Emma died because of him. We already know, from the way he reacted to Taylor's death, that he holds himself far too responsible for things. But he's over Jane lying to him and Emma's true cause of death in one episode, which seems really strange.

Plus Emma is never mentioned after season 2, even when Roman is gleefully making Kurt suffer in season 3 over Avery. It seems like that would have been an open goal for Roman, but he never takes the shot. It's a strange choice that the writers made.

Sorry if I'm coming across as negative. I love the show, you guys know I do. It's just easy to spot the missed opportunities, I guess.
