I have been thinking this since I saw Emma (2020), it's a period-drama, an adaptation of a novel of Jane Austen. I usually don't like her works, because romance it's not one of my favourite genres.
But I have drawn some parallels between the protagonist of the movie with Dick Grayson. It's stupid? Yes, it's completely stupid.
(1) Emma wasn't the oldest daughter, but after her sister married and start having her family, she was the only one in a house too-big for two persons with her father. And we can see her saying incontable times that she couldn't leave his father like her sister did, because he was a lonely man, and even her father said that to her. So, she thought that the happiness wasn't for her, that she couldn't start a life away from everything because of those problems. Both Dick Grayson and her have this "older daughter syndrome" by the way they always try to put the others first than them. And it doesn't matter if they abandoned them, because they're happy.
They have this pressure over their shoulders that at some point, they couldn't handle it anymore. Not only that, but Emma was also called "perfect" as Dick had been called incountable times, the Perfect Robin, the Golden one, the Favourite, but in fact, it's was all a lie. They weren't perfect, they were fractured as anyone, they were broken, and they were obssesing over putting others first, always trying to hide their feelings while they wished for something else.

i do not think you personally vain. considering how very handsome you are you seem little occupied with it. your vanity lies a different way.
