We kill the Zubatman.
I had to draw it. There’s something awfully fetching about this pokemon and I can’t put my finger on exactly what.
I’ll probably draw more later.

Saint Lifard with a Dragon, (Detail), (1503-1508), by Jean Bourdichon (French, 1457 or 1459 – 1521) from the illuminated manuscript Les Grandes Heures of Anne of Brittany, Bibliothèque National, Paris, tempera and gold on parchment,

i will forever owe my allegiance to the pitt solely for the fact that it gave me trinity santos. she’s sarcastic. she’s rude. she’s abrasive. she loves taking care of other people. she’s a survivor of sexual abuse. she’s struggled with suicidality. she hates when she isn’t believed. she is deeply scarred and wounded. she uses humor as a coping mechanism. she struggles with self harm. she is the most empathetic person you will ever know. she is deeply loving and generous. she’s ashamed of her own love and joy. she doesn’t take care of herself. she would rather be hated than taken advantage of again. she holds grudges. she doesn’t like herself. she tirelessly advocates for everyone she comes across because she knows what it is to be small and vulnerable and helpless. she knows that kindness is weakness but she cannot help but be kind over and over again.
can you remember the name of every person you’ve kissed?
yes, I remember all their names
I could name most of them but there are few I can’t remember
if you put all of them in a room I could put a name to at least half the faces
i’m not confident I could name a quarter of them, let alone half
I can’t remember more than one or two names
I’ve never kissed a soul and want to see the results
i was born in the absolute RIGHT generation if i had to have children i would KILL MY SELF!!!!

What are you reading rn, why are you reading it, and what format are you reading it in (physical book, ereader, on your phone etc)
1 and 7 if you’d like!
thank u kara!!
1. book you’ve reread the most times?
as a child i reread my fav books all the time so the most accurate answer would probably be 'the bfg' by roald dahl because that was my favourite. as an adult, lotr is defs up there, read that at least six or seven times. there are also a lot of ya books that i was obsessed with and reread several times in my Youth, the biggest culprits would be twilight (lol lmao even), hunger games (goated choice) and vampire academy (didn't like the later books as much but loved the first one)
7. is there a series/book that got you into reading?
a couple of aus series i loved were:
Dragonkeeper by Caroline Wilkinson (about a young servant girl in China who stole one of the last dragon eggs)
The Book of Lies by James Maloney (fantasy book about three orphans who had no memory of who they were)
but as a white aus kid, i also read a lot of classic english authors like enid blyton and roald dahl.
i was such a bookish kid tho so definitely many, many more that just made me love reading even if i don't remember them now <3
9 and 20 for the book asks? 💗
thanks kels!!!
9. when do you tend to read most?
lately never 😭 very difficult to manage reading with a hectic job
however! i always love reading on trains, so on my way to and from work i'm now trying to sneak in more reading then. outside of that, usually i read on weekends after i wake up. which is actually my plan this morning 🫶
20. what are things you look for in a book?
this is such a big question... let's see:
interesting plot - don't really care if it's unique or original, i will read a thousand quest stories as long as they're interesting
usually fantasy or scifi genre
female authors and/or main female characters
fun magic systems in my fantasy, i do really like a unique magic system
i am actually finding this so difficult to answer lol maybe this is why i'm struggling to read lately.. maybe i don't remember what i love </3
for nonfic tho i gravitate towards things i'm interested in but don't know much about, especially in a specific context. like i know about british colonisation but don't know much about it in nigeria so earlier this year i started a book about that (and should really get back to it...)
3, 6, 10, 14, and 18 for the book asks 🫶📚
thank you thank you thank you katie!!! these were such fun questions, loved answering all of them 🩷🩷🩷🩷
3. what is your favourite genre?
forever and always a fantasy girl 🫶 i usually prefer high fantasy but have definitely read and enjoyed low fantasy books in my time
6. what books have you read in the last month?
just the two books :)
Black Cocatoo by Carl Merrison
The Spirit of the Crocodile by Aaron Fa'oso, Lyn White and Michelle Scott Tucker
both are children/ya books written by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander authors
10. do you have a guilty fav?
i try to live my life guilt/shame free buuuuuuuuuut i do really love matthew reilly books and they are like pure middle aged man fiction with fast plots and lots of swearing, violence and zero character development. so probably those :)
14. do you ever mark/dog ear books you own?
big dog earer even tho i have approx 7 million bookmarks in my house. i don't really write on/annotate books unless i have studied them myself or am now teaching them. mostly because i read for pleasure and not for tests
18. do you like historical books? which time period?
i interpreted this as 'historical fiction' so that's what my answer is about!
my instinct was to say yes but then i couldn't think of any historical fiction i had read lately so i went and looked at my reviews from the last six years lol what i found is that most of the historical fiction i have read includes fantastical elements in some way irrespective of time period. the ones that didn't, were all queer stories also in a variety of time periods. so basically, i do like it but a) don't read it a lot and b) usually prefer some fantasy in there
