All Adults Here was a #bookofthemonth pick for 2020 This is a book about family drama. Astrid, the mom, has been a widow a long time. She and her hairdresser, Bertie, have become a couple and Astrid doesn’t know what the kids will think (and not sure she cares) Elliot, the oldest, still has no confidence because of something he heard his parents say years ago. Even though he’s a successful business owner. Porter has decided she wants a child so she picks a donor and goes for it. Nicky was a famous actor but is now a Buddhist. His daughter, Cecilia, was just trying to protect her friend but got sent to live with Gammy. And August, her friend, has a secret that he desperately wants to share. 😅 Whew! So much going on - it got to be a bit exhausting. How much can one family have going on? Some of it seems forced at times. It’s written well and the audiobook performance is very good. Managed to get a full hour of uninterrupted outdoor reading yesterday before distance learning interrupted. My anxiety has been nuts since I started working from home, I think mostly because I can’t just clock out and be done- I’m available for my teacher at all times. But I’m learning to cope and carve out time to relax and just be. .

This is like the definition of a beach read, it’s light, funny, easy and makes you think about the weird awkward joys of first time sex. I like switching up between serious books and non-serious books and this book was an absolute delight. It was just a fun read that kept me engaged.
