i finished normal people by sally rooney yesterday and i've never been so conflicted about whether i like a book or not! i felt like in some scenes, the writing prevented the emotions to really seep through. Whereas in the show (in my opinion), the parts in the novel where the emotions were lacking were portrayed in such beautiful way, sometimes in not even more than a second. I think this is the only book where i actually preferred the show. let me know your opinions on it!!!

@say_shannon 's The Song Rising was the first book I've read in a while. Life had just completely gotten in the way again, and reading took a back seat to studying and moving and adulting. But reading again felt like coming home and gosh darn it, it was a great read. I fall more in love with this series with each book I read. I think it might be my favourite one so far. So many ups and downs! So much self-discovery!
