Nibbles New Friend
I've just received this most beautiful message from a lovely mum, all about her son and his new friend Nibbles... 💛💛💛💛
"My youngest son has severe dyslexia along with other issues, he is 8 years old and was introduced to Nibbles which flipped a switch in him. He is willing to try at learning his letters and just wants to sit and read with me all the time. I bought the Nibbles plush toy for him, and he has become part of our family....
With Nibbles by his side he feels like he can conquer the world! He isn't as closed into himself anymore. It's like he has made a partner in crime to navigate this weird stage of life. I would have never thought a storybook character could impact someone so very much, but Nibbles has. Nibbles goes to school with him everyday, helps with school work, helps in social setting like at cub scouts, and has even helped with us getting a no tears hair cut!! He is just another family member to us all now, Sawyer even decorated a stocking for him and Santa Claus left Nibbles gifts as well.
Seriously I can not thank you enough for this little monster!! He has sure helped my monster!"
A busy ol' March.
It's been a busy old time over here at illustration HQ, but also at LIFE HQ. In March, my first book was published, I moved house, I moved studio, my iMac died, and more importantly than anything else... I got married!
Needless to say, I have slightly fallen behind on keeping you in the loop of the excitement going on with Sidney, Stella and the Moon.
Here's them getting papped at the Tate in London amongst some absolute gems of picture books...
And here's some more sent in by fabulous readers... Lovely to see the book in Waterstones and in Foyles!
I was also incredibly blessed to be featured in the Leicester Mercury- my local newspaper from back in the day. It's particularly special to me, as when I was a child I always dreamt of being a journalist and writing for the Mercury. So absolutely incredible to be featured in it! Here is a little snapshot of it, if you want to read the full article, please nip over to my facebook page https://www.facebook.com/EmmaYarlett to have a look.
There have also been some absolutely marvellous reviews, and it really seems as though the book is providing a platform for children to have deep discussions with their parents... so cool! Here's a few links...

So that's a little bit of news of things over here. There is so much more to say about recent projects I have been working on, as well as my next authored and illustrated book with Templar... but hold on to your socks as they will be slowly dripping onto your screen in the coming weeks. Yippee!
Love from,
Mrs Yarlett
