Releasing three 'free to use w/ credit' emoji/sticker bases!

All three bases are available in my bases google drive here! These bases can be modified if needed.

Usage guidelines under the read more:

Bases are not be used for adoptables/design sales. Bases are not to be used for monetary gain in any way (with money, points, etc). These are for personal use.

Please credit me for the lineart when the base is used. Credit should be to my tumblr blog @murkshade or my toyhou.se.

hey :3 so uh since every time I go to my witch canvas it takes a long ass time to load and it ‘ s super far back in my gallery , here ‘ s the layers ! feel free to recolour , change the lineart , etc .

Ok so you may have to do some tinkering if you use a app other then ibs for the drawing part. But any animation app you can make transparent gifs or png sequences with is preferred for the tweening.

Step 1: open ibs paint

Open the app and make a 700x700 pixel canvas.

Step 2: layers

Put down the legs layer first, then torso, then head

Make sure to keep them separated of you want a tweening puppet, or it won't work!

Step 3: modify

Use the brush listed below (RAWR) to modify your layers, I recommend making a separate layer for each peice you modify, making the layer your modifying partially transparent so you can see what your doing.

Erase lines you don't want on the layer your modifying, put transparency back to 100% and merge the two layers.

Step 4: colors

Make sure to color in each layer separately.

Don't make it too complex! We are using this for a small emoji.

Step 5: merge the layers down

Merge each part down, making sure to keep the head, legs, and body, and tail if you added one, separate.

Step 6: animation app and preparation.

Open your animation app, im using flipaclip (note: transparency and gif making isn't free on flipaclip.)

Place each part on a separate layer, making sure it looks as natural as a simple puppet like this can get.

Make 6 or more layers

6 is what I used for both examples.

Step 7: start tweening

I start with the body.

Move it down for 3 layers, then up for 2! Try to add some squishing as it goes down and some upwards stretching as it goes up. don't make it too obvious though or else it will look like your canine is getting destroyed.

Then I move onto the head, make sure that the head follows the body, do not use the squash and stretch principle

Then the tail. i make it move a bit upwards, then as it moves back i stretch it out a bit until its at a key frame.

The legs you can squish if you want but you don't have to.

Huzzah you have finished your animation

I recommend having a small amount of experience in tweening for this. If you don't, I recommend watching some tutorials! Alen becker (I think i spelt that right) has some amazing tutorials on animation in general

I bought some cute emoji bases from @takiimikiku and have been having a blast using them and fine-tuning my approach a bit. It's been some really enjoyable cooling off art.
