The Empire of The Hand.

I got inspired by an amazing fanfic “Три негодяя из Долины Черепов” (”Three Bastards from the Valley of the Skulls”) and decided to draw Emperor!Thrawn AU. That fic tells the story of Thrawn, Eli (and partly Ezra) after the Rebel’s final episode. After Thrawn and Ezra had ended up in the Unknown Regions, they reached some kind of truce. Ezra goes on to become a Jedi, while Thrawn together with Eli builds an Empire of the Hand like he did in the no longer canon EU novels.

Like the name suggests, the story has a slightly “western” feel: Thrawn and Eli travel in disguise through some half-desert planet on the outskirts of their Empire to help locals eliminate a criminal clan. At the sime time a Star Destroyer with Brendol and Armitage Hux crashes on the very same planet, and Trawn with Eli end up taking care of little Armitage... It’s a very bittersweet and melancholic story with great plot, a total must read. Mostly gen, with small hints of Thrawn/Eli, but the plot does not revolve around their relationship. 

Thrawn is long haired in this fic, so I indulged in giving him long hair as well. The style of the art is very slightly inspired by the design of Thoth Tarot deck and paintings of Shiva.
