Presenting: The Sea Kids!

These are the protagonists of my other WIP, “Seaside”, fantasy slice-of-life story following three aquatic penpals meeting up to spend a summer together in a sleepy Florida coastal town!

Marisol is a young adult Tiger Shark Mermaid/Siren hailing from the Caribbean ocean. She, along with her parents (a mermaid mother and siren father) and her little sister, have recently moved to their current location due to struggling to get by in their human-threatened home. As to alleviate the grief caused by leaving her childhood home, the three friends pictured above agreed to get together in person for the first time in years! Marisol is an energetic individual-she’s usually the one to organize fun things to do with either her family or friends, whether they like it or not. Still, she is kind, considerate and protective of her loved ones and is willing to stand up to about any opponent if it means helping someone. On the other hand, Marisol also has a tendency to be gullible, impulsive, and even anxious, despite her outgoing disposition. Ciara is a Common Seal selkie born in Shetland but raised in Glasglow, Scotland! She is, by far, the most reserved of the trio-she enjoys going out to spend time with them, but would much rather prefer a quiet day at home. Not to mention she hates being the center of attention, tending to become panicky when put on the spot.  She is also often accused of being aloof for tending to keep to herself, even when around her family or friends. Nevertheless, she often acts as the rational mediator in conflicts when Marisol or Leon threatens to make a situation worse. 

Leon is a Encantado coming from Brazil but now living in New Orleans! He’s the quick-witted and charismatic, but more sensible and levelheaded one of the group-most of the time. Suffering a bit of social anxiety from both other mythical individuals and humans, he presents a confident (although Pretty Pretentious) persona to those he doesn’t know-especially romantic interests. Even so, Leon’s pretty much just as awkward and goofy on the inside like the rest of his friends. After all, friends that made him feel like he was at home when he first arrived in New Orleans and got in touch with them as they were visited, he’s willing to relax a bit.  Do Not Repost
