"Pepa, mi amor, you can't let what those girls say get to your head, you know I love you, storms and all"
Fèlix tried to reach out for his girlfriend, frowning when she flinched out of his grasp.
“Yeah, we’ll maybe you shouldn’t!” She sobbed out. Her face turned away, and arms crossed over her chest.
His body froze, arm still outreached. . Shocked.
His amazing goddess of a girlfriend didn’t just say that did she? Doesn’t she know he couldn’t stop even if he wanted too?
“P-Pepa?!” Thé man sputtered out uselessly. Trying once again to get near her. To pull her in his arms and stroke her braid till she felt better.
But once again, she avoided it. Rain coming down in sheets. Eyes a teary mess.
“Those girls were right,” she whimpered pitifully, “I’m such an embarrassment Fèlix. I cant control my emotions and I’m constantly getting you wet, or snowed on. Or I don’t know, pummeled to death by rock sized things of hail!”
She took another step away, “You don’t want to be associated with a freak like me.”
Fèlix took a moment to ground himself. Clenching his fists tightly and willing every part of him to stay calm, and stay put. Instead of breaking out into a sprint to go find those Puta’s and scream at them like he oh so desperately wanted to.
He would later. That was a promise. No one got away with saying poisoned words to his sensitive beloved without some sort of retribution.
But right now. His Amor needed him.
“Pepa,” he started out softly, keeping his space as to not press her any farther, “Pepa don’t you see? I don’t care what those Mocosa’s said to you. And I don’t care what the town may think. Because I love you. So, so much. And you have never once, not even once, made me feel embarrassed to be by your side. I love your storms. And I love your sunshine. If it’s from you, I Love it even more. Because you are perfect to me you hear? Utterly and radiantly perfect.”
Pepa sniffled, shoulders trembling from the cold, “But how can you say that Fèlix? I’m not perfect. Hell. I’m even getting you wet as we speak!”
She broke out into a small round of ‘Clear skies.’ Trying to calm the rousing storm.
To be honest. Fèlix barely even registered it. After you spend an amount of time with the weather girl, it becomes second nature to have your clothes soaked on the daily. It’s why he switched to a different fabric so his clothes would last longer.
“It doesn’t bother me,” he replies with a grin, “It never did. Your feelings have never been a burden Pepa? You don’t need to have clear skies around me. Because you are not just clear skies! Your hail and rain and morning dew! And I wouldn’t have it any other way!”
That must have touched a nerve, because the girl coughed out a harsh sob. Stumbling slightly as she hugged her body tight.
And hesitantly, Fèlix took another step forwards. Testing the waters per say. Trying to see if his Love would be open to touch now that he affirmed his undying love.
He took another, slowly walking forward until he could finally wrap his arm arms around Pepas shaking frame.
She took a second to process the embrace, before turning and crashing into his arms with a sense of fury. Lightening striking somewhere in the background.
“I-I I’m sorry Fèlix,” she cried uncontrollably, “I-I’m so sorry. P-please don’t leave me I Love you so much! I-I just don’t want to make your life miserable!”
Fèlix was quick to press a kiss to her forehead, rubbing her back soothingly, “Hush, Amor. Theirs nothing to apologize for. I’m not leaving you. And I never will. You understand Mi vida? I love you more then you can process. And you could never make me miserable. You make me so so happy. Te Amo Pepa.”
Pepa, cried harder, mascara running, and rubbing her teary face on the shoulder of Fèlix’s shirt. Though he didn’t mind. Only chuckling softly. Yup. That was his Pepa. Loud and individual in everything she did.
“God your shirts such a mess,” she mumbled sadly, “Probably ruined cause of me.”
He made a incredulous expression, “What? Are you kidding me? This is now an official Pepa original?! It’s made it limited edition. And pretty soon all guys will want their girlfriends mascara on their shoulder. Marking them as theirs! It’s the next Romantic fad!”
Pepa snorted loudly, rushing to cover her mouth as a mixture of laughter and sobs trickled out from her lips.
“Your such an oddball Fèlix!”
“But an attractive oddball, right?”
She mock slapped his shoulder, grinning ruefully, “Maybe just a little.”
“Ok, ok, a lot!” She admitted with a giggle, an adorable blush rising to her cheeks, “Maybe your a lot attractive.”
“Maybe?” Fèlix questioned, but raised an eyebrow to show he was joking, “Aye you flirting goddess!”
He swept Pepa into the air, catching her gently in his strong arms. Spinning around in circles as his girlfriend gripped on tightly. Her laughter only increasing his enthusiasm.
“Fèlix! I’m getting dizzy!” Pepa squealed, signaling him to come to a slow stop. He softly placed her back on her own feet, steadying her with a hand to the waist.
“Amor? Now do you believe me when I say how much I Love you? How much happiness you bring?”
She smiled slightly, anxiety indenting between her brows. He had an urge to reach out and gently knead it away. But held his arms close.
“I never doubted you loved me,” Pepa whispers, “I just…the anxiety. The whispers-“
-“Those girls will never bother you again! You hear?” He was quick to growl, “I won’t allow it.”
“Such a charmer.” Her blush increased slightly. Sun peaking out behind the clouds.
“But Aye, I understand,” Fèlix moved close, moving a hand to cradle her neck, bringing her down slightly so they could link foreheads, “I know you can’t help what you get anxious. Lord knows your Mama isn’t helping-“
-“Aye! Lo siento! But you know it’s true!..Anyway. I just wanted to say, I know you can’t get rid of your anxiety. Of all the thoughts and feelings. I just wanted you to know that I’ll always be here when they arise. And tell you your wrong if you think I’m going to stop loving you, or ever regret falling in love with you. Because I love you Pepa. So damn much it hurts.”
The next thing he knew thin lips were pressed snuggly against his thicker ones, conveying the love of a strong beating heart.
“I love you too, Mi Sol.”
