So I watched Iron Lung with my sister on Sunday instead of the superbowl, and it was fantastic. I loved the creative liberties that were taken to really turn a fairly short game into a 3 hour movie. Mark did a wonderful job with it, and I have never felt so much dread watching a movie before.
Now, I've played Iron Lung myself, and it was the most unsettling gaming experience I've ever had. Sure, I had watched Jacksepticeye play it, so I knew what to expect, but something about playing it myself made me incredibly uneasy. The game itself is a wonderful example of great sound design and instilling a feeling of dread that other horror games don't hit me with.
In regards to the Iron Lung movie, that dread was dialed up 10× more. I played the game, watched deeper dives of the game, so I had a pretty good idea of how the movie would end. But the way the movie was made kept me guessing constantly. I didn't know what kind of ending to expect anymore, not until the very final moments of the film. Definitely one of the best times I've had watching a horror movie. It was memorable, and I really want to watch it again and again.
All in all, Iron Lung was a fantastic movie, and I don't know how it could've been any better than it was. I loved it, and my sister loved it. I'm so glad my theater was able to get the film.
