I'm sorry but I do not understand how can you ship katniss with Gale Katniss explicitly states that Gale represents war and violence, and that she needs peace. Peeta represents the peace she has been waiting to have her entire life. She never once loves Gale romantically. She only ever kisses him because she thinks that’s what he wants.
I respect your opinion but it demonstrates a huge misunderstanding of Katniss, Peeta, and Gale as characters as well as the message of the book in general. Plus katniss only had feelings for Peeta.
Ok first of all. Learn how to block people. Some rando the thg tag should not have to explain in detail why they like a ship just because you dislike it. This is just extremely rude, if you don't like seeing everthorne block me and the everthorne tags it's really that simple.
Anyway fortunately I do actually like talking about this so you know.
You are fundamentally misunderstanding the point of shipping, I mean I straight up just say in the tags I don't want them endgame, because shipping doesn't mean I want the characters to be together in a happy healthy relationship, shipping just means I like their dynamic in a romantic context, whether or not I think that romantic context is positive or not is up to interpretation. You acting like I'm ignoring end of the book Katniss' feelings for shipping everthorne just shows you don't get very very simple fandom concepts.
Anyway, the reason I ship everthorne is in fact in a way related to a few things you said, Gale being war, Gale not understanding Katniss fully, because their character arcs are what make them interesting as a pair.
At the start of the story Katniss and Gale are narratively pretty much the exact same. The place they fill in the story and their experiences are similar enough that they are basically the same character. This is important because that gives you a frame of reference for how they end up so far apart at Mockingjay.
A primary theme throughout the hunger games is the idea of "remember who the real enemy is" In the districts you are not given any concept of what the other districts are like, or what the capitol is like, outside of what you are forced to see for the games. And there is a class divide, the merchants and the seam and the peacekeepers. And the districts are each treated differently, 1, 2, and 4 are given special treatment allowing them to become careers while 11 is so highly policed you can be shot for saluting and 12 is starved.
The point being, the enemy is the capitol elites , the ones forcing it to be this way, and they want everyone to be focused on each other.
By going to the games Katniss is given a perspective that Gale just fundamentally cannot have by being in 12, she meets Capitol citizens who are kind and on her side (Cinna, Portia) and also ones who are just naively ignorant (the prep teams) and she meets people from other districts, she befriends rue, she decides she would have been friends with Thresh, she watches Cato watch his entire concept of what he's fighting for crumple before her eyes.
Gale doesn't have this context he cannot he is denied any opportunity to connect to, yes the other districts, but more importantly the citizenry of the capitol (see after Katniss saves her prep team in Mockingjay) but he does see the torture the Capitol commits.
Gale's father is killed in a presumably preventable accident and he age 14 becomes the breadwinner for his entire family, his best friend is sent to the games, he is whipped half to death for poaching, his district is starved in the middle of winter, the Hob is burned, his best friend is sent back into a killing game, his DISTRICT IS DESTROYED. And he is responsible for saving every person who lived, and has to live with the deaths of everyone else on his conscience. And he's like 19. Btw.
When you see them in Mockingjay they are such incredibly different people because while they both hate the capitol, Gale cannot possibly understand how anyone could be in the side of the people who have tortured and murdered everyone he loves, and Katniss has learnt to care for people all across panem and learnt that everyone even the clueless frivolous capitol people are victims of propaganda and circumstance. Their experiences have shaped them into completely different people and they're no longer able to understand each other.
The reason I ship them, I'm interested in their romantic relationship, is because they are two of the most interesting characters to follow, their arcs are intentionally mirrored to show the consequences of using your righteous fury wrongly, their relationship is a narrative tool most of all and the narrative is fucking fascinating.
Obviously I don't want them endgame, because they aren't meant to be, they have changed too much to ever go back, but it's the growth and change that makes me like them as a pair, it's the fact that they change that makes them so interesting to me.

its absolutely crazy to have boundaries discourse in 2025 tbh. its completely fine to establish boundaries with fans but it has to actually be a boundary. like martyns reply is literally IT when it comes to actually setting a genuine boundary!!! 'if you do that please dont put it in the main tags if you do' is 10000% reasonable, and more crucially if that boundary is broken then the cc can take action and block that poster so their boundary isnt further crossed.
i understand that some ppl, especially newer ccs who havent been here for half a decade when the 2019 boundaries discourse first cropped up, are uncomfortable with certain fan depictions bc theyre not used to the realities of Being An Online Celebrity (even if at a micro-celebrity scale). part of that fame is surrendering partial control of your image to that larger group and thats something you have to expect and learn to live with. like jimmy getting force-birded over the last few years to the point its featured in his merch, or techno's old quote about how sometimes all the fanart you get is you as an anime girl and you just gotta deal with that.
i think its completely fair for them to vocalize that theyre uncomfortable with certain things and asking fans to respect their wishes and to not do it! but if they follow that request is up to them. ultimately you cannot control them or force them to stop. boundaries are you saying "if you do X, I will do Y". boundaries are "i don't like that, so could you do that over there and i won't go there?". they are NOT "i don't like that, so you need to stop doing it". at that point you are not establishing a boundary, you are making a request. is the socially polite action to then stop? yeah, sure. but not everyone is gonna do that and you need to be ready to deal with that.
i wonder how much of this is honestly due to the CC's audience scale and how that impacts the parasociality of the whole thing? when you have a smaller community, its natural for that community to feel more close knit and personal in the relationship between streamer and audience. thus, anything that crossed a line and the creator doesn't like feels like a more interpersonal violation?? but at the end of the day, the cc is first and foremost an entertainer performing for an audience-- they dont know the streamer when the cameras turn off, and the streamer doesnt know them when the chats go offline.

I agree with all of this.
I am a Dan and Phil fan (oh wow the girl named Dan is a Dan and Phil fan wonder how that happened) and one thing that really awes me with them is just how healthy the parasocial relationship is. It's the first fandom I've been in where I've felt like there is a genuine relationship with the collective Fans and Dan and Phil, and all the respect and boundaries are mutual.
For example they do these videos where they react to fan content, and in the first one of those videos Phil commented that he had the idea to do this because his explore page kept recommending him fan content and he obviously shouldn't be looking at fan content so they decided to make videos where fans can share content with them that the fans have vetted.
And like!!! Yes!!! That's it that's what you're supposed to do!! You are absolutely welcome to see fan content if the fans consent to you seeing it, I can tell you from personal experience realising a cc is seeing your fan content without you realising is really stressful (#empiressona) like fan spaces aren't for CCs if I wanted to show you the fishfucker pride flag I would have shown you Scott.
I know if I knew my ccs were seeing what I made I would be way more cautious with what I make, and that's not even boundary breaking stuff, I don't even think you can break boundaries with Scott lbr, like I would be nervous making perfectly acceptable content because if it's getting perceived that's scary as hell thank you very much. And so it's way healthier for a fandom if ccs aren't in them!! Because people are free to be genuinely creative!!
I know a lot of smaller ccs wanna join in fandom and wanna be included but seriously I cannot stress enough how much they need to put a separation between them and fans. There's so many options! Do what Martyn and Pearl do and just say hey please just don't maintag any nsfw or ship because I wanna go in the tag and not see that, do what Dan and Phil do and semi regularly have the fandom offer up their best works to be seen, do like the team behind The Magnus Archives and have a tag that fans can stick on any work they don't want to be seen, those are boundaries. Do not make any work about me that I personally do not want to see under any circumstances is not a boundary it's being a dick.
In the end I'm always gonna be of the opinion that you can never control what other people do and so the worst thing you can do is focus on the people doing stuff you don't like, if as a content creator you don't want to see stuff that makes you uncomfortable you won't ever really be able to make people not make that stuff, but you can make it so you don't see it through filtering and having healthy boundaries with your fandom about what fan content you can see.
Conclusion the CMC idea of boundaries is straight up just not feasible and not how fandom or boundaries work, but we have 100% seen YouTubers have healthy boundaries with fans, you can have boundaries with fans that means you don't see stuff you dislike and you can still see fan content, you just need to make it so that fans can choose to show you their fan works rather than making some fan works illegal.
Tldr: if ccs want to see fan content they need to give fans the option to filter the content being shared, and one day I will wring Callmecarson's neck just you wait.
