Personal opinion of Mass effect ending. Spoilers ofc. The more I think about it, the more I am convinced. Catalyst is Shepard him/her-self. Catalyst is called to a component which accelerates a process. A catalyst is never an inhibitor, or something like that. It is not something that can stop a process. Catalyst is the last component in the reaper-mision to accelerate the destruction of the whole intelligent life in the galaxy. And if it doesn't get it, the process will still continue. Shepard is the catalyst. If he/she is adoctrinated (synthetic/control endings), he/she will lead the most efficient legions of reapers around the galaxy, because Shepard has incredible leadership skills. If not (refuse/destruction), the cycle still will continue, in its own rate. But always the end of the world happens. No matter what.

And you know what?, It's ok. It's the most logical ending you can get in this chaotic and hopeless situation. What reminds me... hope this is not what we are going to see in Dragon Age Inquisition.

Other times, the ember is re-kindled and it flares wildly engulfing my heart in tall flames. But no matter what- the ember is always glowing, it's always glowing.
