#Repost from the Awesome conservationist @steve_woods_photography @download.ins --- Being in the open ocean, surrounded by sharks is where feel most at home. These animals are not mindless killers, but intelligent, hyper-evolved animals that play a vital part in our marine ecosystem. If we don’t have a healthy population of sharks, our fisheries will collapse, meaning the roughly 3 billion people that rely directly on wild caught sea food will be pushed into economic and food insecurity. This in turn means mass migration, giving rise to pressures on health systems, job markets and education systems. So saving sharks DIRECTLY affects you wether or not you love, or even like them. We have a petition to end the private importation of shark fin into the UK, but we need to act NOW! We need 35,000 more signatures in 8 days. PLEASE go to my bio and click the link to sign the petition (you will need to be a UK resident). PLEASE SHARE this post so that we can harness the power of social media to push this out to a wider audience. Help us save the sharks now! It is always hard to see the benefit in small actions, but this is something that we can all watch and be proud of. WE can make the change today!
