* TW SEXUAL HARASSMENT * Me: [ in my parked car, looking at my phone, minding my own ] Dude-filled van next to me: AY. WHERE U GOIN? Me: [ rolls up window amid shouts of protest ] For a split second, I wondered if he and his friends were going to get out of the van. I had mace in one hand and my phone in the other, but thankfully, they drove off. This may not sound like a big deal to some people, but the incident triggered that all-too-familiar jolt of fear, and two hours later, I'm still pissed off. So let this be a solid seasonal reminder that cat-calling is not cute/funny/appropriate, and such "playful" commentary actually DOES make women really uncomfortable. It's not hard to be respectful. And this -especially- goes for all you creepy assholes who try to sneak up and dance right behind unsuspecting humans in a crowd... You know who you are. The burst of adrenaline that comes with realizing your sense of safety in a communal space has been violated is extremely jarring. Don't be the person who frightens others who are just trying to live their damn lives. P.S. I have a history of fucking throat-punching anyone I catch grabbing ass in a crowd. I won't suggest that anyone endanger themselves further, but if you are ever able to snag the arm of whoever groped you, I recommend pulling them in sharply, yelling "HE GRABBED ME, SECURITY!" and landing blows on their stupid face/neck. I guarantee the crowd won't let them get away. Make an example of their pathetic scummy ass. K bye. 🌸🔪🌸🔪🌸🔪🌸🔪🌸🔪🌸🔪🌸 #endstreetharassment #catcallingisforcats
