Summary: Castiel Novak is a low level reporter for the New York Post, up until he gets his big break: ASL star Dean Winchester has broken a goal scoring record and Castiel has been assigned to his personal story, meaning two weeks of close proximities. Except, the thing is; they've kind of got history.
Comments: 8/10 the main conflict in this one is john's raging homophobia, so warning for homophobic language and general bigotry. This isn't as angsty as I imagined, I can't explain why because obviously there's all the elements to make it angsty beyond belief. The ending is so rom com it hurts, but there's a reason we love these clichés. Generally pretty well written, John is a douchebag and Balthazar is a very good friend.

Summary: Dean finds a sixteen year old omega living on the streets during his first heat, so he takes the kid home to keep him safe. But, as it turns out, he's finding the kid difficult to resist, himself.

Comments: 8/10. The second one is mainly just a tinestamp. Dean is a police officer and he ends up mating with 16 year old Castiel on his first heat. The links are epubs because the author deleted the fics from Ao3.

Hey guys! I wanted to say this because it must have seemed weird why I suddenly started doing fic reviews, but mainly this is to give you guys a fic to read. I place a link on each title so this is basically for you guys to read awesome fics that I find.
Today, I'm reviewing Through the Dark by endversed on AO3. This is a modern day fic that involves Castiel as a reporter who was sent to do a report on an ASL star, but runs into trouble when he finds out that it is Dean Winchester. They used to friends, but more importantly, they used to be in a secret relationship when they were teenagers. Their relationship ended abruptly and horribly, but even after seven years of heart break, Cas still can't help fall in love with Dean all over again.
I read this fic a while ago but I read it again because it is just that good. There are 43,196 words, tons of smut and a LOT of angst. I really liked it, there are some spelling errors throughout it, but it doesn't take away from the story at all. I hope you like it as much as I did!
