Had the absolute pleasure of commissioning @abyssalmermaiden for a little sketch of the boy and I am! !!!! Obsessed! He just looks so good from the mess hair to the freckles he has! Just! Look at my boy! Look how happy he looks! And the LIGHTING! immaculate! Thank you so much! and if anyone else is thinking about it you should really commission her!

anyway EW spoiler stuff below the cut but I just love Hythlothea ship so much.
I got my elpis flower and put it in a little vase and I’m cryin because Hyth would have had the original one that Anthea made sitting on his desk. He came up with some lame excuse to keep it after their little group date. He would stare at it longingly sometimes, it never changed color but it was the creation that brought him and Anthea together and so its extra special. And like this was always the first thing moved when he got a new office when his positioned changed over the years. Anthea always felt that creation a bit of a disappointment because no one was ever able to figure out how it works or drew any kind of inspiration from it, people just found it a pretty mystery, but they didn’t mind seeing it in his office because for him it was that sentimental thing they can never tell him to hide away. Its like having a picture of them on his desk, its something he shows off to those that ask, something he maintains so well.....
and its lost among the rubble of the Bureau of Architecture so Thea can’t even go to see if its still there, they doubt it would be because everything has been lost to them. However it still managed to pull through the Final Days that little flower and Venat is the one to come across it. Elpis itself has fallen to ruin and so all the others are no longer viable and have died, this one though still lives if only for a little longer. She remembers how the WoL told her how they came to know of Elpis and keeps the flower, letting it dry out so the seeds can come forth and be spread across the Source. Letting this flower grow throughout bringing joy and hope and light to people throughout history until it eventually finds its way back to the WoL and they will inevitably meet with Hythlodaeus who will want to remind his love of better times and let them know that he is still there with them.
Like this one little flower meant to much and it yet even when it was just some flower it was the world and joy and hope for Hyth in his life before the Final Days struck.
