Honestly, the combination gimmick in Energon was probably a mistake. I'd have preferred it if Hasbro had not bothered, and instead made all the devices have light-up fists that made the everything weapons glow.
On the other hand, we'd have never discovered that Rodimus made such an effective power(linx) bottom. He looks lousy on top. Vice versa for Wheeljack Downshift.
Seemed like it was finally time to get the king himself into robot mode. I'll probably never forgive Hasbro's insistence on having the guy 'upgrade' to Galvatron and back down to Megatron again three times over the course of the series. The Armada guy was Megatron, THIS guy is Galvatron, the Cybertron guy is... well, we can workshop that.
I really wish I'd got the purple deco as well. Is it too much to say that this was the best Galvatron mould until Kingdom? Because it kinda was.
Like some vast, predatory bird. With a tank on the top!
