Thursday, March 12: Enertia, “Demons of Silence”

Piece of the Factory was Enertia’s first album in over a decade, though the lineup and overall sound remained consistent: “Demons of Silence” was second- or third-tier American power metal delivered with precision and vigor, with Scott Featherstone’s vocals a particular highlight.  The song’s sound and feel were both out of time and a nice change of pace, since most power metal bands over the past 20 years have generally traveled down similar HammerFall/Stratovarius paths.  “Demons of Silence” was simply a ripping banger, which was really all it needed to be.
