Veiltober - day 24, Lyrium
I know we all love Trespasser, but The Descent DLC is soooo good as well. They always manage to put the most interesting lore in DLCs, its crazy. I also really hope we get to see more about what's going to happen with the Titans, and the good news is we don't have to wait much more, baby!
Prints and stuff available on my Redbubble!
Prompts for Veiltober by @lynnerdo as always!!
Quiet Reprieve - Dragon Age 2 Private Commission (2012)
Hey uh, Lace, whatcha got there? That blue stuff that's shown up right as you cast magic?
Dragon Age 2: The Fall of House Tethras
...Bartrand believed the (lyrium) idol sang to him and forced his men to eat lyrium to make them hear the song...
Statues are up! And while working on some of these also put up more daggers, the anker, Solas’s jaw bone, an Eluvian necklace, and mini dread wolf statuettes as earrings! I also have some Cullen Rutherford in stock too!
EDIT I FORGOT THE SHOP LINK OOPSE
Ivynell
NightfireVA's wonderful OC Ivynell. Her lyrium heart puts her at deep risk, and her ability to sing lyrium into existence only ratchets up the danger.
If you'd like to commission me, check out my forms sheet here!
Types of Lyrium
Blue Lyrium - Titan blood, good for magic (seemingly addictive for templars and not mages? Unless mages don't regularly use...)
Red Lyrium - Blighted Titan blood, anti-magic supposedly so that's why we get red templars and not red venatori? More powerful tho? But bigger cost?
Green lyrium - seen in DAI during Adamant when in the Fade (is it also the crystals in the rifts?). I like to think of it as Fade-touched lyrium that doesn't really apply in Thedas since it is something that can only be mined in the Fade. Or maybe gathered from old elvish arlathan artifacts it maintain the green? I'd like to think it might have some interesting qualities.
Yellow-Green Lyrium - mentioned in Tevinter Nights (The Horror of Hormak) is used with a briney water to make mutilated creatures. I want to believe this is different than the Green one since it would be dangerous to just be growing out there in the Fade and all. I want to believe it's something Ghilan'nain grew herself and cultivated to make brutal monsters. Perhaps Void-touched lyrium? Since the Void seems to be antithesis of the Fade? Unless the Void is a reference to Blight?
Id love to hear other people's opinions on Green and Yellow-Green lyrium (or really any lyrium). It's fascinating but it feels like Bioware may have stepped on their own tail and I'm trying to make sense of it.
I don't have a fantastic grip of DAV so if anyone has lore from Veilguard to add, I'd appreciate it.
