Entangled AU

Alastor really does make it difficult to keep him alive. It takes months of increasingly prickly reactions to proximity before the Hazbin crew realizes how badly Adam hurt him. By which point Alastor is feverish and fighting like a cornered beast, to say nothing of the wound cracking open his form.

At this point, your average angelic healing isn't going to cut it, even if it the others could get in close enough to hold the stubborn deer down.

While he's certainly reticent, Lucifer eventually acquiesces to an angelic form of possession to keep Alastor still and heal him from the inside out.

It's disturbing for all parties involved. Lucifer's eyes looking out from Alastor's face while he forces the other to start breathing evenly and slowing his heart rate manually.

Over the course of a few hours the wound seals and Alastor's fever breaks and suddenly he's very aware of what's happening.

It's a shit show.

His Shadow is making panicked expressions and keeps trying to make contact but can't while Lucifer finishes healing him. The radios in the hotel are switching wildly between channels like ghost boxes and snippets of a spiraling conflict come through in Alastor's and Lucifer's voices.

When at last Lucifer pulls away from him, Alastor flees with a new founded fear. Lucifer doesn't even need to be near him to hurt him.

There are threads between them now and neither are willing to discuss what occurred where no one else could hear.

Whatever it was, it leaves Lucifer staring after Alastor when he finally returns and the deer much less direct in his antagonism towards the devil.
