The Journalists (Part 2): Pip from Entertainment Focus
The Journalist who Takes No Bullshit from Toxic Fandom
(Part 1) (Part 3)
Pip Ellwood-Hughes from @entertainmentfocus interviewed Peter Krause and Oliver Stark in mid-season 8 hiatus:
'9-1-1' is one of the biggest shows in the world and the latest season, Season 8, is currently airing on Disney+ in the UK.
Here's a part of the interview
EF: "One of the big storylines for Buck during Season 7 and Season 8 has been the exploration of his sexuality. We've seen him start a relationship with Tommy, and I know there's misery ahead for them. Fans have for the most part loved the storyline, although there has been a small group that hasn't. What has that been like for you?"
OS: "Yeah, it's funny. I thought those two different camps that you talk about there might be somewhat equal in terms of how many people felt whichever way about the story, but it's been overwhelmingly positive, honestly. The people that have ended up coming out and saying that they didn't like it, certainly what's reached me anyway, has been FAR SMALLER than the people that have loved it for Buck and loved the storyline."
Pip mentioned that most of the fans had loved Tevan storyline, and only a small group who hadn't. Basically, Oliver agreed with him 😂.
That part of the interview seemed to triggered toxic Buddie fans. One of them attacked Pip on X:

An X user, @valenschmidt23 claimed that Oliver is struggling when he was answering the question. The X user also put her/his own words on Oliver's mouth by claiming that Oliver meant to say something HE DIDN'T ACTUALLY SAY in the interview.
Pip had no tolerance for this bullshit. He simply refuted the claim by saying that 'Oliver SPOKE ENTHUSIASTICALLY about it.'
That's not the only attacks Pip got. However, he always had an answer ready for each of them:
Pip also took time to answer people who supported him, and to explain himself...
Somehow, the attacks kept on coming, so did his retorts....

After watching a bunch of journalists paid writers pandering to a toxic fandom, some even participating in bullying, It's so refreshing to see a journalist who's not afraid to stand up against toxic fans who try to spin the narrative. No wonder he's gained supporters among this part of fandom in such a short time.
If by any chance Pip read this, or someone who knows him read this, please tell him that we appreciate him.
