Quick sketch of my current d&d character, Violante Ippolita di Astromonte. She is the eldest daughter of a noble puma family and has been pressured to learn the arts of combat and war to become a great leader and mother of the next generation of house Astromonte. But her interests lie elsewhere: science! Enthomology! She envies her younger brother who can pursue his passion in astrology, so escapes her responsibilities to show the world that she is valid in her own way. She's exploring the world, discovering new species of critters and is writing and illustrating a book on invertebrates: Integram Libri Insectae de Mundo, which she hopes to publish thanks to the newborn printing machines.
We're playing in a particular setting: Historia, which is based on the Italian reinassance and has anthropomorphic animals instead of elves, humans etc. and where social conflict is mostly based on wealth rather than species. The new classes presented aren't necessarily great, but being a low-magic setting it's fine. I don't know if the manual is available in English too, we play in Italian!
