Anyone else obsess over little details and slips of the tongue in promos like this? We know that in the 70s (in the series at least), Louis and Daniel meet in a gay bar before going on to do the original interview but here Eric Bogosian says, “and here comes this vampire who scared him and he had this relationship with.” I’ve heard whispers that it was a romantic or at the very least a sexual relationship, could this be what he is alluding to? Or is he referring to just the time they spent doing the interview as a professional relationship?
“A Shadow on the Skin” is Daniel’s first book (in the series) which studies the rise of the AIDS epidemic so this could be the reason for the visit to a gay bar if they’ve straight-washed his character in the absence of Armand. Not sure.
What are everyone’s thoughts on this? Would love to discuss and if you’ve read some of the 4 scripts that were leaked but don’t want to spoil the show, how close am I to being right? Hot? Or ice cold?
Also how cool is it to read in this 30 second clip that Daniel has published books on the emergence of the AIDS epidemic and the lack of response by the American government to the rising environment emergency. Both subjects which I feel very passionately about and deal with in my day job. Very cool.
