You grabbed Barry by the elbow and slowed his pace to match yours before he dashed off into the pipeline for another trip to the past.
“Hey, I need you to do me a favour when you’re back there.” You requested from the speedster and watched as he concentrated on your next words. “As tempting as it gets, I need you to let my story play out - all of it.”
Barry nod and shrugged off the comment. “Of course, why would I-”
“All of it, Barry. And that includes my relationship with Thawne.” You clarified and the young man immediately scowled and stepped back.
“No, come on. Y/n, he manipulated you to get back at me-”
“I know.”
“He intentionally broke your heart!”
“Barry, I-”
“Hell, he even killed you in the first timeline that I reset - the same one that I’m going to.”
You stepped forward and placed a hand on his shoulder while staring into his face in the hopes that he would calm down a little.
“Barry, I know what he’s done and I'm well aware of what he’s capable of.” You reminded him softly. “I hate him but I… I also loved him more than anything. And his betrayal helped shape me into the person I am today. It doesn’t make sense but I need that to remain intact.”
Barry fell quiet. He didn't like the idea at all. If he had his way, he would risk the future just so you wouldn't have to endure the emotional scars from Thawne.
But he had to respect your wishes. He couldn't be selfish.
"I'll do my best." He replied and that was the best he could offer in that moment.
Hi!!! so I was wondering if I could request a Eobard x fem reader fic where the reader works at star labs (before the particle accelerator explosion) and is competing with Hartley for a promotion, so reader decides to seduce Eobard into giving it to her followed by some smut. if your not comfortable writing this that’s okay! it’s just boss!eowells is really plaguing my thots rn 😩😩😩
IM GIGGLING AND KICKING MY FEET
Warnings: smutty, use of good girl, he's baby girl, use of sir possibly heheHEHE (sorry I'm so rusty)
Y/N really wanted the promotion and needed it. Your rent just really went up. It was the landlord just being a complete ass about it. Y/N was thinking of ways to do get the promotion that was right but none of it seemed to work because Hartley wanted the same promotion. Y/N groaned to themselves at her work desk. It was starting to get late, and you had been trying to get the most done. Then an idea came in mind.
You noticed how your boss aka Harrison Wells would steal glances at you. A plan was coming through. Although you never thought you would have done that. You knew he always stayed late. You decided to go to his office. Of course, Hartley was there chatting with Harrison. You knocked on the office door. Questioning if this was the right idea.
"Come in." Eobard said. He knew it was you. He dismissed Hartley telling him to get some rest. Hartley didn't want to but knew it was best not to fight the orders. He walked out after you came in and gave you a glare. You ignored it. Eobard smiled at you. He was glad he hired you.
You approached his desk and put a huge smile on. He looked at you knowing something was up but didn't comment. "I'm surprised you haven't gone home; you usually care about sleep." He chuckled.
"I haven't finished what I wanted to do for the day. I was hoping we could talk." You said trying to start up a conversation. You decided to go behind his desk and sit on his desk. He watched as you did that and held back the smirk. He saw how you skirt was riding up.
"Ah, I see, what do you want to talk about?" he asked as he sat in his chair and leaned back. He was now purposely looking at you.
"I wanted to admit something, I haven't been able to... it could risk my job." You said and bit your lip more out of nervousness. He nodded.
"You can tell me anything." Eobard said. You took a deep breath.
"I like you; I like my boss." You spoke. "I can't get you out of my head." You spoke. It wasn't even a lie. He didn't seem surprised and leaned forward.
"I see, how come you didn't tell me before?" He asked. You blushed a bit.
"I can't lose my job... I've been trying to get the promotion.... cause I do need it." You said and moved closer. Eobard nodded and smiled.
"I can help you with both." He spoke. He leaned forward and slowly stood up. You looked up at him. You hardly said anything he was already saying this? He gently grasped your hips with one hand and lifted your chin with the other. His thumb rubbing your lip as he looked into your eyes. "You can say no anytime." He added and you nodded.
Eobard leaned in and kissed you slowly and you melted into the kiss and kissed him back. He pulled you closer to him getting desperate and more by the second. His hand on your hip moving up to your neck. He pulled away to look into your eyes. "You're so beautiful." He spoke in a tone saying he meant it. "I've been waiting for this."
Eobard was quick to kiss you again. He thought your dumbfounded reaction was adorable. Did you really not see? He smirked a bit and sat back and pulled you into his lap. You gasped. You started to grind against his one thigh. He watched as you did this. He pulled away from the kiss.
"Oh, what a needy girl, huh?" He said into your ear as he leaned in close to ear before kissing down your neck. His hands started to pull your blouse off. You whimpered. "Want more?" He teased. You nodded. "Words my sweet lady." He said. You pouted for a second.
"Please sir." You said not knowing what slipped. His eyes darkened more.
"Good girl, you keep calling me that and I am all yours." He spoke. He lifted you up enough to get your skirt and underwear off after getting your bra off. He admired your body as you sat there in his lap. "Now how about you help your boss?" He didn't really ask. You nodded quickly and got his pants off and his underwear. You went bright red. "You are sure my sweet lady." he asked again.
"Yes sir, I'm sure." You answered. He pulled you close again and chuckled as his hand moved down your body and he felt how wet you are already for him.
"So wet already for your boss hm?" He teased you and you whimpered as he continued to rub your clit.
"Please sir~" You whined. He chuckled and prepared you for a few more minutes before sinking you down slowly. You gasped and moaned as he felt so good inside of you. He groaned at how well you fit him. You were made for him. He slowly moved your hips to get you used to it. After a minute you got the rhythm and started to ride him. The office was filled of moans and groans of pleasure. An occasional whimper of pleasure. You were getting close and closer to cumming so was Eobard. He could tell.
"Cum for me my good girl~" he said. He had started to thrust up. You moaned as you started to quiver as you came. "Oh~ Good girl." He said as he came with a moan. He had you lean against him as he rode out each of your highs. "You got the promotion but a different one love." He smirked. "You will be everywhere with me." He spoke. "And i mean everywhere." He said with a darker smirk. He wasn't letting go of you now. Not even when his plan gets in motion. And you will be coming with him.
A/N: Helloooooo. Here's a little one-shot that didn't make it into More Than He Bargained For that I thought you would all enjoy!
---------------------------------
"I have to go out of town for a couple of days," Eobard reluctantly informed you, his expression softening as he looked down at your pouting face. "What? Why?" you protested, your eyes searching his for an explanation.
Eobard couldn't resist the charm of your pout; it made him feel guilty about leaving you. A warm smile graced his lips as he reassured you, "I have to do this thing for work, but I'll be back before you know it."
"Impossible," you countered, pressing a quick, affectionate kiss on his lips before snuggling closer to him. "I always hate when you aren't here."
He sighed, his gaze fixed on you. He wished he could freeze this moment, capture it in eternity. You and him…happy, lovers. You made the stagnant existence in this time period bearable. "Why can't you take me with you?" you asked, breaking him out of his thoughts.
"You know I can't," he replied, his voice filled with a touch of regret.
You groaned in response, not happy but acceptingly. "Alright."
A comfortable silence enveloped the room as the television droned on in the background, providing background noise with its latest stock market analysis.
"I have something for you," Eobard suddenly broke the silence, his voice infused with anticipation.
Your eyes lit up, and you sat up eagerly, a smile tugging at your lips. "Oh? What is it?"
"We have to go outside, though," he teased, pressing a tender kiss on your lips. "Meet me outside," he said, his voice carrying a hint of excitement.
You giggled as you watched him almost trip on his way to your shared bedroom, his playful smile and wink leaving you with a sense of curiosity. Grabbing your shoes, you headed outside to join him.
Eobard's house was a cozy haven, nestled alongside the lake bordering Central City. The backyard was a sight to behold, with towering, lush trees adorned with delicate jar lights. A beautiful garden with a meandering stone path guided you towards the shimmering lake. From this vantage point, you could also see the dazzling cityscape, adding to the enchantment of your little piece of heaven.
"It's beautiful."
You turned around and found Eobard standing beside you, a gentle smile playing on his lips. Your heart fluttered at the sight of him. "It is," you replied, unable to contain your joy.
"Oh, I wasn't talking about the view," he sweetly retorted, his gaze filled with affection.
You couldn't help but grin, feeling the warmth spread across your cheeks.
"Before I go, I wanted to give you something, but first, I have to ask you something," Eobard began, his voice laced with nerves.
Curiosity ignited within you. "Okay," you responded, your voice soft and filled with anticipation.
He took a deep breath, his hand trembling slightly as it ran through his hair. "Is everything okay?" you asked, concern creeping into your voice.
"Yes! Yes, I just—" he stammered, his eyes meeting yours before he finally gathered his composure. Stepping forward, his voice regained strength. "Will you marry me?"
You stood frozen, unable to process the question at first.
Did he just...?
Oh my goodness..
He just asked me to marry him
"Yes, of course!" you squealed with delight as he kissed you passionately, sealing the moment. As you pulled apart, your eyes glanced down and spotted a dazzling diamond ring with your beloved gemstone nestled in the center.
Overwhelmed with joy, you looked up at him and said, "I love you."
A radiant smile graced his face as he replied, "I love you too."
A/N: Introducing my new fic! I hope you enjoy it. Please like, comment, and reblog to give me the courage to write more. Your support means everything. Thank you!
You were sitting with your friends at the Central City Coffee Shop, feeling excited about introducing your boyfriend, Harrison Wells, to them. The anticipation was building inside you as you decided to text him and invite him to meet your friends. When he replied with a resounding yes, a rush of happiness washed over you.
Minutes later, you heard the familiar creaking of the coffee shop's door, and your heart skipped a beat. The sound of his wheelchair wheels approaching your table filled the air. With a big smile on your face, you greeted him and planted a gentle kiss on his cheek. However, you couldn't help but notice a sudden change in your friends' expressions, as if they were disgusted by something.
Inhaling deeply, you tried to brush off their reaction, thinking that it couldn't possibly be related to Harrison. Wanting to introduce him to your friends, you intertwined your fingers with his and spoke up, "Guys, this is Harrison Wells." You gestured towards him while lightly touching his hand resting on his lap.
One of your friends rolled her eyes and remarked sarcastically, "Oh, the famous Harrison Wells." She took a sip of her coffee, seemingly unimpressed.
Feeling a mix of frustration and protectiveness, you took another deep breath and turned your gaze back to your boyfriend. With a loving squeeze of your hand, he looked into your eyes and reassured you, "Not anymore."
Before you could respond to your friend's rude comment, she interrupted, "Ew, you like him?" Your eyebrows furrowed in annoyance, but you decided not to engage further.
Undeterred, your friend persisted, asking again, "You like him?" She scrutinized you with her gaze, waiting for your response.
Rolling your eyes at her judgmental attitude, you firmly answered, "Yes, I love him." Folding your arms, you inhaled deeply, preparing yourself for a confrontation.
Amused, she laughed and said, "Are you crazy enough to fall for him? He's way older than you." Taking a sip of her coffee, she seemed to find humor in the situation.
Your patience waned, and anger bubbled up inside you. Standing up on your table, you slammed your hand down, capturing the attention of those around you. Ignoring the onlookers, you looked directly at your friends and addressed them with determination.
"How rude can you be? I don't care if he's older than me. I don't care if he doesn't fit your idea of the 'cutest' boy. He doesn't have to be. I like him for who he is. You don't see him the way I do, and I think he's perfect just the way he is." As you spoke, the passion in your voice grew stronger.
Overwhelmed by emotions, you grabbed the two coffee on the table and splashed them on your friends, expressing your anger and disappointment. Harrison just stare at you unsure of what to do in this situation. He saw the anger in your eyes that he never see before.
You reached out for the handle of his wheelchair, gripping it tightly. "We have to go," you told him firmly, leading the way toward the coffee shop's exit.
Once you arrived at the STAR Labs, you still felt the boiling anger inside you. Sitting in front of a monitor, you leaned your head against it, trying to calm yourself down. Suddenly, you felt a warm hand on your shoulder, and you snapped out of your thoughts.
Turning to face Harrison, you grasped his hands and looked into his icy blue eyes. He asked, "Are you okay?" His concern was evident in his voice.
Taking a moment to compose yourself, you replied, "Yeah, I'm fine." Pulling away slightly, you shifted your attention back to the monitor, trying to regain your composure. As Harrison wheeled himself next to you, you felt his touch on your cheek.
"I know you're not," he said, his eyes reflecting sadness.
Frustrated and vulnerable, tears welled up in your eyes as your heart raced. You shook your head, unable to control the rush of emotions. Staring at your sweaty hands, you said, "I hate it when people say that to me."
Harrison apologized softly, blaming himself for the incident. He gently placed his hand on your face and then moved it to his lap. Feeling guilty for the outburst, you slowly stood up from your chair and settled onto his lap, cupping his soft cheeks.
"It's not your fault," you reassured him, lifting his chin and meeting his icy blue gaze. Taking a deep breath, you closed the distance between you and kissed him passionately. As you pulled back, both of you gasped for air.
Whispering with a tone of sadness in your voice, you confessed, "I love you." Resting your head on his shoulder, you inhaled deeply, taking in his comforting scent. His warm hand gently patting your back and the soft kiss he placed on your shoulder made you feel secure.
"I love you too," he responded, his voice filled with sincerity and affection.
Later, at the Central City Club, Harrison arrived, donning a black cap and a black jacket. He noticed two ladies drinking alcohol nearby and couldn't help but overhear their conversation. Their unstable state became apparent when they suddenly found themselves outside the club.
Curiosity piqued, one of the women squinted at the dark space before them and spotted a tall figure approaching. "Who are you?" she questioned, her eyes narrowing.
Confidently, Harrison removed his hat and smirked at the two ladies. "I'm your (Y/N)'s boyfriend... and yes, I can walk," he replied, stunning them both.
Eobard Thawne's presence left one of the women wide-eyed as she stared at his feet in disbelief. Speeding in front of them, he added, "Well, I can do this, too." With a swift vibration of his hand, he incapacitated them, causing their bodies to hit the floor.
When one of the women choked on her own blood, struggling to speak, she managed to ask, "Why did you do this?"
"You know, just for fun." Eobard declared, a satisfied look on his face. He nonchalantly put his hat back on, as if nothing had happened, and walked away, leaving the two women behind.
Word Count: 4k+. This one took me a few hours but I really had fun writing it. I hope you all enjoy! :)
People always said that being too invested in your work wasn’t the best. You needed to have balance. Of course you barely paid mind to that. The best scientist never got anywhere lazing around. Besides, you had a life outside of research. You have a steady stream of cop shows to keep you company.
One of which is the very popular Flash TV series.
It was by far your favorite. It’s not like you didn’t have friends either. You just barely had time to meet with them due to your inventions. This one was going to be the best yet. Being a senior in college meant that this was your last chance to make your name as a scientist. If you could create this, then the sponsorships and press conferences would come blazing through the door. You grin, tighten the last screw.
“Alright!”
All you had to do was connect the plugs and you were set. It sort of made it easier being the only one in the lab at night. No distractions.
“Take that Jimmy.”
You glared at his machine on the other side of the room as you showed it the finger, plugging in your own. Yes, maybe that was a little immature, but he was so conceited. Constantly boasting that he was going to create a device that could stop aging and sell to the highest bidder. He didn’t care about human life.
Just money.
“Moron.”
Your invention was meant to stop terrible illnesses like cancer, cure the sick. You did want the recognition, but also the joy that came with watching a child make it back home to their family, healthy and happy.
Exhaling softly, you moved over to the outlet to plug in your machine. The rumbling of thunder however stopped you. When the lights went out, you cursed. You couldn’t see a thing. Dropping the cord, you moved around feeling for a door. It was weird that the backup generators hadn’t kicked in.
There was a flicker, and you smiled when the lights above your head turned on. Thankfully it hadn’t messed with anything in the lab. You moved to grip the door and maybe find the security guard, but the lights in the building started blaring and you flinched.
The constant flicker of red was not what you expected. Your eyes moved to the glass ceiling, and the sight of a current of lightning should have alerted you to run away. But a part of you knew that if it broke the glass, that would be it. The machine you spent more than six months on would probably turn into a pile of trash.
“Hey kid!! Get the hell out of there!!”
The yell of the guard brought you back for a second. He tried opening the door to come and get you, but you were already bolting in the direction of your machine. You jumped at the last second, just as the streak of lighting broke the glass. The sparks struck every surface in the room and you screamed at the surge that rushed through your body.
Your body was elevated for a second and when the lights finally shut off and turned back on, the guard could only stare at the empty room.
That was how it happened.
A poor choice on your part. But at the time it made sense. You were surprised that you were still alive. You could hear the beeping of machines and the faint smell of disinfectants. Your nose scrunched up and you turned your head, pressing your palm to your forehead.
“GUYS SHE’S AWAKE!!”
That yell really wasn’t helping.
You sat upright groaning at the pain that ran through your body. The sound of feet shuffling finally made you lift your gaze. Your eyes were still trying to adjust to the room.
“We’re relieved that you’re alright.”
“That voice..”
You knew that voice.
Why did you know that voice?
When your focus finally steadies, you were positive that maybe you did in fact die.
“My name is-”
“Harrison Wells..”
He was a bit confused.
“That’s right.”
Your eyes ran over all four of them and you swallowed, stumbling out of the bed.
“Barry Allen, Caitlin Snow, Cisco Ramon..”
They were fairly puzzled that you seem to know their names.
“The Flash..You’re the Flash. OH MY GOSH I’M IN THE FLASH!!”
You started pacing around in circles as you continued to rant and they all turned to Dr. Wells for some kind of instruction, but he looked just as stumped as everyone else.
“This is crazy. It’s not real. It can’t be real. That lightning, the light that’s what happened! I was struck by lightning and I’m in a coma. I must be in a coma. Either that or I’m dead. Am I dead!!? I didn’t even get the chance to have a boyfriend. I can't be dead!!!” You were sobbing now and Cisco nudged Barry.
“What! Why me!?” Barry protested.
“You’re the hero dude. Save her or whatever.”
Barry trailed over cautiously, reaching over and patting your arm awkwardly.
“T-There there. It’ll be okay.”
“Noooo it’s not, I’m dead. Why! WHY!!”
Your wails got progressively louder and Barry took a step back to the group.
“I tried.”
Eobard released a heavy sigh. He could already tell that this was a thorn in his plan. The fact that you just appeared in their lab in a burst of light didn’t help at all.
“I need to be calm and deal with this.”
He couldn’t afford the distraction, not right now.
He wheeled over in his chair, plastering the best look of comfort that he could.
“We understand that you’re in a tough position. But if you calm down and explain the situation, we might be able to get you back to where you came from.” You were still crying softly, and when you looked up at him, he almost felt sorry. He held out a hand for you, and you wiped your eyes, nodding slowly as you took his hand.
He almost jolted at the subtle spark he felt run through his hand. When he looks at you, there’s no noticeable change, so he schools his features as he guides you to take a seat.
“Tell us what happened.” He urged.
You finally got yourself to stop crying long enough to fully explain your situation. They sat there very attentively. It was a little hard to believe on both sides. But the alternative was truly considering that you must have died.
“So where you’re from this all a television show?” Barry asked.
“It is. I was working on my machine and then a crazy storm came out of nowhere. I tried to save my tech but I guess I got hit.”
“It was reckless of you to run towards an active storm. “
Dr. Well’s words make you blush. You slide off the chair.
“Y-Yeah you’re right. A-anyway, do you guys have ideas of how to get me back?” You avoid contact with him, and he raises a brow.
“Well your machine must have been the trigger. It might have been struck too.”
You shook your head.
“No, that's impossible. My machine was built to attack cancerous cells in the body.”
“You were trying to cure cancer?” Barry asks.
“Yeah I..I just wanted to help people.” You mutter. Barry smiles.
Now that is all gone. Your machine was probably obliterated and you were stuck wherever this was.
“Was there anything else that could have triggered your transportation here?” Caitlin asks.
You shrug.
“Not that I could think of. The room just had a few minor tech projects and that stupid narcissist Jimmy’s anti-aging machi..” You trail off and it clicks in your head.
“Shit that’s it!!”
“What’s it?” Barry question.
“Jimmy, oh my gosh. I’m a little pissed but he’s actually a genius. He’s been working on an anti-aging programmer. Basically it superchargers the body. It stops the cells that contribute to aging and deterioration.” You run to the board set up at the center of the room as you start marking down equations.
“I’ve been there for most of his upgrades so I know the general layout. I could build his machine and find my way back there!”
You were practically glowing, and Barry stepped forward.
“Whatever we can do to help, we will.” You turned to him.
“Really, you’ll help me?”
“Of course! We’re always down to help a fellow scientist. Besides, you're trying to cure cancer. You’re awesome.” Cisco states.
“I’ll do what I can to help.” Caitlin offers. You can’t stop the smile on your face.
“Thank you, thank you so much!”
You hug Barry, and he laughs patting your back. You go down the line giving them all hugs. When you get to Dr. Wells, you’re still wearing that smile. It slowly fades and you clear your throat.
“W-We should get to work immediately. "
You made a quick turn, heading back to the board.
That was the plan. Rebuild Jimmy’s machine and get back home. For the most part it was fairly easy. Barry of course had to fill Joe in on everything and then create a story to tell Iris of who you were. Everything felt sort of smooth sailing. You crashed at Star Labs working on your project day and night while helping Team Flash with their endeavors. You weren’t exactly hero certified. The more dangerous situations you stood at the sidelines with Dr. Wells, just observing.
It was still weird adjusting to a show you were literally watching on your television screen. They were all just as kind and brave as their characters portrayed. Cisco was an amazing engineer. He’d helped put together the tools to create the machine. While the first few attempts were a fail, you could tell you were getting closer. You knew it wouldn’t be easy trying to invent a machine you didn’t design yourself and you were going off your memory. Whenever you got discouraged or sulk, Barry had a way of helping you regain inspiration to keep going.
Cisco would make jokes of what you would do when you got back and Caitlin had soft affirmations to encourage you. It was nice. You realized then that you were so focused on your tech that you hadn’t given yourself any time to have fun or be with your friends back home. A part of you just always thought they would be there after you finally made it big. It was selfish and immature. Maybe this was the reason you were here. To open your eyes in a sense.
“Any progress Ms. (L/N).” You jumped at the voice at your door. Dr. Wells wheeled in and you swallowed the lump in your throat.
“S-Slow progress.”
You keep your eyes on the board, trying not to give too much of a reaction.
Another issue as of late was avoiding Dr. Wells. See he’d always been your favorite character. A crush if you will. While you really admired the actor, you never truly thought you would meet him. So working in such close quarters wasn’t the best. Your solution was to avoid any and all interactions. There was no point in getting attached when the goal was to ultimately leave. You also couldn’t alter anything too drastically.
“I think we have something that needs to be discussed. “
The click of the lock on your door is what gains your attention. When you turn back, Dr. Wells is no longer seated in his wheelchair, but standing at the entrance. You drop the marker in shock.
“You’re..”
You blink and he has you pressed to the wall. The papers in your room have scattered and you hold your breath. Back against the wall caged between his arms, you can only stare.
“You’ve known who I am this whole time, haven’t you?”
“W-Who you are..”
You’re completely in the dark and it’s starting to scare you. This isn’t the man that was so compassionate on the first day you got here. Not even close.
“Are you still going to play games?”
He tilts his head, raising his hand, and when you see the vibrations, your heart almost stops. Those usually warm eyes light up a treacherous scarlet. You’re beginning to see the bigger picture.
“Y-You’re the evil speedster..the one who killed Barry’s parents..”
“Eobard Thawne, in the flesh.” He smirked.
You feel like an idiot. You literally could have avoided this if you’d just watched the last few episodes. The realization that you might actually die here becomes very real. You sob, and he lowers his hand. You clench your eyes, waiting for the inevitable, but nothing happens. A minute, maybe two passes and you finally open your eyes. He’s no longer vibrating, but he hasn’t moved away.
“So you really didn’t know. That’s a surprise.” He walks back, and you’re still pressed into the wall.
You’re afraid to move.
“Since we’re both in a bind I’d suggest we come to an agreement. You can’t breathe a word of this to Barry or the others, not until I get what I want.”
“W-What makes you think I won’t tell them!! I could give a crap about getting home now. I’m not just going to let you hurt them!”
“How awfully brave of you.” His tone is mocking, and he moves around the room. You know it’s more to intimidate you.
“I’m sure you’ve realized by now that anything you do here could ultimately steer the plot off course. I initially assumed that’s why you’ve been so curt with me. If you even make a ripple, everything here, everyone you know, that you’ve grown to care about could die and it would be all your fault.”
You swallow. He’s right. You know he is. If he’s truly from the future then he has a lot more knowledge.
“So what do you say, partner?”
“We’re not partners!” You hiss.
This is painful. You press your hand to the desk to steady yourself. It’s all so messy now. He’s still standing there looking proud of himself and you stare right at him.
“I hate you.”
There’s so much spite and malice in those words, and Eobard’s smile slowly falls from his lips. He isn’t sure why he feels anything. Those words shouldn’t even phase him. But the look you wear right now is much different from the one you’ve been sending him all those weeks that you’ve been around. He turns his back, unlocking the door and setting himself right back into his chair.
“Have a pleasant night Ms. (L/N).”
That’s what he said. You should have expected life to deal you such a hand. Every time you got comfortable, there just seemed to be a bigger obstacle.
You kept up the secret, even though it hurt to lie to your friends every single day. The thought of them being wiped from existence was much more painful. A part of you just hoped that the heroes would prevail. This was a tv series after all. That small glimmer of hope is what gives you the will to keep going. It was hard to explain, but somehow you knew Barry and the others would come out on top.
One particular afternoon you were having a movie night at Cisco’s place with Barry, and Caitlin.
“Hey, you never really told us who your favorite character was.” Cisco called, tossing popcorn at you.
You leaned into the couch thoughtfully.
“I guess Barry is.” You spoke.
“Really?” He said, clearly flattered.
You nod, playing with your bowl of snacks.
“I guess in a way I related more to you. I’m an orphan too.”
They’re all listening now.
“I’m sorry. We weren’t trying to pry.” Barry apologizes. You shake your head.
“It’s okay. It’s not that bad. It was just a little hard growing up. Everything I have I had to work for. In a way watching your character felt like watching myself. You had a hard start, but you still made something of yourself and that's admirable. I wanted to be just like you. “ Barry smiles. Pulling you into a half hug and you grin.
“Okay, okay we get it.” You laugh at Cisco.
“You’re one of the characters I had a crush on though Cisco.”
“What, girl for real?”
You nod.
“Yep. It’s the long hair. Definitely a weakness.” He begins playing with his hair and Caitlin giggles.
“Please don’t give him a big head.”
“I’ll try not to.”
Cisco grins.
“I kind of wish you had a friend that we could pair Dr. Wells with. Maybe then we could get him to stop being so private and quiet. I bet you if he had a girlfriend he’d come back out of his shell.”
Caitlin smacked his shoulder and Cisco just continued to laugh.
It was just a jab, you knew that. But deep down you wondered if he had someone to be his moral compass, then maybe he would give up this whole master plan.
With that thought, you returned the following morning with a new goal. If you could maybe figure him out, maybe you could flip him for the good. The moments you weren’t running through equations, you would steal glances at him. You try to observe his likes, dislikes. Ticks. Anything that could give you just a hint of his personality. This outer part is just a persona, you know that. But despite that, you know there must be times where his true self slips out.
“Is there something that I can help you with Ms. (L/N).”
His tone is polite for obvious reasons. Caitlin and Cisco turn. It dawns on you that maybe you weren’t being subtle.
“N-No Dr. Wells!” You speed down to your room and Cisco shrugs.
“Wonder what’s up with her?” He says absentmindedly.
Eobard intends to find out just that. He hasn’t been blind to the subtle glances. If you’re planning something, he intends to use any means to discourage you from acting impulsive. When he gets to the door, he doesn’t even knock. He pushes the door open and you flinch. Once inside, the door slams shut. He stands, stretching.
“Planning something I should know about?”
He doesn’t fail to intimidate. When he shows you his true colors, it’s like the air shifted. You stay planted firmly. This time you’re not going to back down like a coward. Maybe if you make your intentions known, you can throw him off his game. You can change his perspective.
“I-I’m going to make you fall in love with me.”
He just stares for a second, because he’s not sure if you’re joking or being serious. His baffled look changes slowly to amusement. Pretty soon he’s laughing and you know why. Eobard speeds right over to you. He doesn’t miss the subtle jump you make, even though you try to hide it when you’re both eye to eye.
“Do you really think such a foolish plan will work? I can see it whenever you look at me, you’re terrified. Even now, you’re quaking in your boots like a frightened little girl.” You swallow, puffing your chest.
“How exactly do you intend to make me fall in love with you?”
It’s a ridiculous statement, but he loves this, pulling your strings.
You don’t say a word, not at first and that smirk on his lips grow wider. When you take a step forward and grab his cheeks, he plans to question it, but you press your lips to his and any thought he’d formulated has disappeared.
You’ve indeed caught him off guard. Your eyes are closed and your heart is hammering to an unknown rhythm. After a few hot seconds, you pull back, licking your lips. You can still taste him.
“Wow..”
That was an impulse move. You were just trying to prove a point, but you can’t deny that it felt good. Before the whole evil speedster ordeal you did have a healthy crush on the man. Eobard is still somewhat gaping at you.
Well that worked, you suppose. You release him, taking a step back.
“You’re not the only one who’s driven. I won’t lose.”
That’s all you say as you walk away from him. Even when the door closes behind him, he doesn’t truly process it. His hand hesitantly moves to his lips. That shouldn’t have phased him. Not in the slightest. But he felt it. That kiss. Your touch. He finds himself licking his lips, just to get another taste.
“Shit.”
He underestimated you.
Following that encounter, Eobard is unsure how to go about intimidating you. It was as if you’d gained the upper hand somehow. In the lab with Barry and the others, you’re unnaturally nice to him. When the both of you are alone, you’ll brush by him or casually blow off the little threats he makes about getting in the way of his plan.
During one particular battle in Star Labs, Barry has managed to subdue the chaotic meta, not before they had released a minor shockwave. It had knocked all of them off their feet before Barry grabbed the cuffs. When the criminal was safely restrained, he bolted to the pipeline. Cisco and Cailtin were still picking themselves off the floor. He hated situations where he had to pretend to be helpless. It was a little degrading. That was the price he had to pay.
By some grace, you’d landed right on top of him. His legs were sprawled on the floor and you were straddling his hips. You looked down for a second, clearly disoriented. When you gathered yourself, you tried to stand and his eyes ended up focused right on your bust that was now in full view.
“Dr. Wells are you okay?”
Your soft voice rang in his ear and he finally made eye contact. He cursed himself for the moment of weakness. Maybe it was the fact that he’d never indulged in those desires that he was now feeling a dull ache in his groin. He covered it well, nodding as he allowed you to help him back into wheelchair.
“I’m fine.” His tone was gruff, and you bent over to inspect him for injuries. Although you knew of his capabilities, he was just like Barry. That meant sustaining an injury was possible.
“Are you sure you’re okay?”
Caitlin and Cisco seemed otherwise occupied with picking up falling tech and some computers. He groaned, once again being face to face with your cleavage.
Eobard gripped your wrist with a low growl.
“Stop bending over.”
It’s a hiss.
For a moment you’re confused, but then your eyes finally trail to where his eyes lay, your cheeks erupt in color. You pull back quickly, fumbling over your words.
“I-I’m going to help Barry!”
You declared. You were rushing out of the cortex before they could question it and Eobard shifted in his seat, agitated with the problem he now had to deal with.
He was positive that it couldn’t get worse than that. Your little distractions have been driving him up a wall. He’d been so sure that it was a bluff you made that day. Making him fall in love. It wasn’t logical. This wasn’t logical.
The ring at his door tore him away from his thoughts and when he opened the door, he’s a bit irritated at the big smile you wear.
“Hey.”
You sound so casually as you just barge inside. He closes the door behind.
“How long do you think this charade is going to work?” He questions
“I should be asking you the same question. I told you, I won't quit. I won’t stop trying to-”
“To what! Make me develop feelings for you. Do you realize how ridiculous that is? I’m a monster. I could gut you right here and I wouldn’t feel a thing.” He rises from his chair.
“Then why don’t you?” You tilt your head and his brows furrow.
“You seem to think that the only reason I’m doing this is to save Barry and the others. You’re right, a huge part of this is to protect them. I care about them. I won’t just sit here and watch you hurt them.” You walk closer, and he studies you.
“But the other part of me knows that you’re not as heartless as you claimed to be. “ You circle him.
“When you thought that I was on to you, you could have ended it all right there. But you let me live. It didn’t make sense. You know I’m from a different universe, so any harm to me wouldn’t even touch this timeline. Instead of getting rid of me, you made a deal.”
“I didn’t need the extra paperwork.” He says sarcastically.
You stop right in front of him.
“That’s not it. When I came here, you must have felt something. Even if it was just a spark, you felt it.”
“You're wrong.” He holds your gaze, but it isn’t the same.
“You’ve had feelings for me from the very start..” You whisper.
“No..NO!!”
He seems adamant on denying it. You move in, taking his hand and he visibly deflates. You lift his hand placing it right at the center of your chest, much like he’d done when he tried to coerce the truth out of you about his identity. His gaze doesn’t look as sure.
“Do it.”
He gulps. His hand is shaking and for once it’s not due to the vibrations.
“I can’t..”
He couldn’t believe this. How had he let this happen?
You take a step forward and when you hug him, his body is stiff. His hands fall at his side.
“I guess I did win..”
It’s not a boast, you sound just as surprised as he is right now. Your hands gently trail down his shoulders, laying right on his chest. When you leave a kiss on his neck, his eyes close, letting out a staggered breath. You keep trailing kisses along his skin. Along his neck, right on his cheek. Your fingers begin to drift down and that snaps him out of his trance. He grabs your hand, speeding out of the room. Your eyes open and you’re pinned to the bed, staring up at him.
“Stop.”
He warns.
You just grin.
“If you really wanted me to stop, why did you bring me to your bed?”
He’s about to object, but he takes in the space and you can see the shock on his face. You bite your lip, pushing him onto his back as you switch positions. Eobard just gapes.
“I’ve spent most of my life depriving myself of so much because I thought it was the only way to get what I wanted. I’m done with that. From now on I’m going to be honest about what I want. What I need. What I need right now is for you to make love to me.”
He’s not sure how to go about dealing with this situation.
You lean down, sliding your knee between his legs and he holds back a sharp hiss.
“Make love to me..” You coax.
Eobard grits his teeth, pulling you down for a desperate kiss. You smile, responding with just as much urgency.
That night ended with the both of you buried in his sheets. He can’t say for sure if it had truly happened. He vaguely remembers your soft moans of encouragement. His body connected to yours. It felt too real to be an illusion.
He woke the next morning to a note from you to meet him in the lab. It was six in the morning, he knew for a fact that no one else would be there. That’s why he’d discarded his chair and just ran over. You stood at the center with your machine on a trolley. The wind tossing your hair made you smile as you looked down. You didn’t turn to look at him, not at all. But he could hear the smile in your voice.
“I’m going back home. I already left my goodbyes for the rest of the team. If I see their faces I know I’ll lose my nerve. I left instructions for Cisco. After three days, he needs to destroy the machine to protect all of you. “ You finally turned around to face him.
“When I’m gone you have three days. Three days to decide if you want to have a better life, or if you want to be the big bad that Barry faces. I think you know as well as I do that if all that I’ve said is true, in the end, Barry will win.”
Eobard clenches his hand.
“I’m not going to force you, it’s your choice.”
It’s hard for you to deal with, but he needs to make the decision. It doesn’t stop the tears from coming. You move to him, reaching out, you hug him, because it’s possible that this is the last time you’ll ever be this close to him again. Your grip tightens, and you cry when he returns the embrace.
It hurts, more than you thought possible. You’d fallen so hard and fast for someone you should have resented.
Another lesson learned.
You pull back slowly, a bit astonished that there are actual tears in his eyes. You kiss him in hopes that the feeling will stay engraved in your mind. When you finally part, your breath is a bit staggered. You release him completely, moving away from him.
Eobard reaches out for you instinctively, and you shake your head, placing your hand on the button as you turn on the machine. A light sparks into the room, and when he sees the steady stream of lightning now emitting from your body, his eyes grow wide. You just smile.
“Come and find me.”
It’s the last words he hears before the room becomes quiet. Not a sound.

****Here’s a little fic to cheer us up in light of what’s unfolding in season 8. I’m still just watching the Eo clips so I’m just going to stick to my writing and nothing else because I simply do not know what to do with the current plot (?). I’m still on hiatus due to school, but this and a few completed drafts were just sitting around. I have one more chapter to finish for the Wells-Thawne family (that I’ve been procrastinating) but that section of four chapters will be released once i finish the forth chapter before getting started on the next chapter installment for the series.

MASTERLIST
“Well, don’t you look nice in red,” you whispered into the empty room, materializing from the shadows in a fit of darkness. You couldn’t help but eye the Scarlet Speedster in the Cortex. Eobard’s breath hitched as he abruptly twisted his head to the sound of your voice. His tensed shoulders relaxed. You sent him a little wave with wiggling fingers. You were perched on top of a side table, one leg over the other and that cheshire-like grin plastered on your face. Both your hands were pressed on the table, propping yourself up as you had no support for your back. “All noble and dignified in that suit. A true hero,” you continued to tease him. "Isn't that right, Flash?"
It was Eobard’s turn to smirk, his heart warming in his chest significantly at the sight of you. He ran a hand through his slightly mused hair as the speedster approached you. You uncrossed your legs while the ‘hero’ loomed over you. “You shouldn’t be here,” the genius murmured teasingly, already wrapping his arms around you gingerly and slotting himself between your legs. You snuggled into his arms, pressing your face into his chest and breathing him in. You shut your eyes as you savored this moment with him. “The others will get ideas, Shadow Weaver.” Eobard’s grip tightened around you, placing sweet kisses on top of your head. He could get drunk off your company alone; the idea that you came this far with him, for him, out of love had the speedster thoroughly smitten. It’s not like Eobard would ever grow tired of you or the adoration he saw behind the fire in your eyes. One day, I’ll take you far away and we can live the life we’ve dreamed off, my little bird.
Even though you saw Eobard two days ago, the situation had been different, drastically different. This whole plan still gnawed at you; he had killed Barry Allen as a child in this temporary reality all the while taking up Barry’s place as The Flash… and as Iris West’s fiancé. All of this in order to siphon off speed from the Speed Force until the time point is corrected and when Barry would show up, he would be unmistakably heartbroken with dread. You knew it was a charade and you understood Eobard’s intentions as well as having faith in him. But seeing her by his side always felt like a sharp knife to your gut, twisting and twisting, even though Eobard had made it blatantly clear that he would never touch Iris the way he touches you. He would never choose her because he had you. You were always his endgame.
“Let them,” you muttered, shifting back to meet his eyes dead on. You laid your hands against his firm chest. “We won’t be in this reality for much longer anyway.” We’re almost done here. I can hold out for a little longer.
Eobard’s eyes ran over you, a glint of worry in them as his tongue clicked at your bandaged arms. He couldn’t help himself, his fingers moved to hold them in his gloveless hands. Instinctively, your body flinched away slightly from his touch. Eobard furrowed his brows as something dark stirred in his soul. His eyes caught sight of the bandages peaking the collar of your shirt and his jaw set. With one hand, the speedster brushed your cheek with his knuckles. “How are you feeling?”
“Better, although I think you handled me a bit too roughly over in our last staged fight. I just have a mild headache and some pain here and there.”
“I’m sorry.” The speedster took your head and leaned down, gently kissing your injured limbs. Eobard noticed how your body tensed up under his touch. His thumb gently rubbed the edge of the wrapping. “I hadn’t calculated Iris breaching to the fight. I should have cut the comms before heading to the warehouse.” To his chagrin, Iris came to your ‘fight’ with the genius speedster and shot at you multiple times regardless of his warnings for her to stay back. Eobard couldn’t care less about her safety, but Iris was one of the keys to Reverse Flashpoint. You tried to not hurt the journalist with your powers, if only to get her to stop shooting at you to flee with your Shadow Step. The speedster let out a sigh before resting his forehead on your uninjured shoulder as another apology fell from his lips. “I’m sorry I couldn’t protect you.”
“Hey, look at me,” you cupped the villain’s face in your hands, confidence bolstered your words. “I’m ok, I am more than capable of protecting myself even if you’re around. Was the situation less than tasteful? Yes, but I’m still in one piece. I’m still here and we’re seeing this through to the end so we can get back to you beating the living hell out of Barry and me watching from the sidelines with some popcorn.”
You planted a sweet kiss to his lips, one he returned sensually. “Just a few more days and we’ll be in a permanent timeline,” Eobard mused as he dipped his head a little, his mind already re-evaluated every course of action with Team Flash. They wouldn’t turn on him, not with how easily he has them ensnared in his script for the final act. “Barry showed up at the little ceremony.”
“I know, I was watching from the upstairs balcony.”
“Nothing slips past you, does it?”
“Not when you’re involved, my love,” you giggled as Eobard nuzzled into your neck, placing a few chaste kisses on your skin. You hugged him closer as electricity from the computers in the Cortex continued to hum. “I’ll be keeping Barry preoccupied the next few days. Put on a little show, have him second guess everything and teeter towards the edge.” I wonder what he’ll see the more he uses the Negative Speed Force.
“Such a clever little bird,” Eobard remarked smugly, kissing your lips “Everything’s going just as planned, naturally. We took it all from him. All I need is for whatever speed is left of the Speed Force to sync with my body before converting to Negative Speed Force particles.” We’ll be evenly matched once more in a few days.
You couldn’t help but avert your gaze from your fiancé. Your mouth moved, articulating your thoughts. “...I’m still not happy about Iris being around you nearly 24/7.”
“I’m not exactly enthused about it either,” Eobard agreed, shaking his head to himself as your gaze locked back with his. There was always such sincerity in his eyes when he spoke to you. “Or the fact that you’ll be by Barry’s side when he chooses to attack. I want his world to shatter all around him just as he had done to me. Things aren’t what they seem in this… reversal of events, to him, but it’s everything that I’ve strung together with the pieces at my disposal. I want him to break before he realizes that Damian’s the key to changing the timeline permanently. Our game of chess is not over.”
You let out a little sigh, dancing your fingers over his shoulders before loosely locking your arms around his neck. Eobard kept his hands on your sides. “Just… promise me when we get back we’ll take some time away from here,” you commented, knowing that he can sense the exhaustion you were feeling from living in Reverse Flashpoint for so long with him in order for things to go his way.
“I was thinking about that earlier when I was sitting at the last meeting with the others. I know you’ve been wanting to tour the Maldives.”
“You remember that?” You simply cocked an eyebrow at his oddly specific suggestion.
“Yes, of course I remember,” the speedster responded softly.
“It’s just I talked about that when we were…” You trailed off, biting your lip and dropping your gaze. That was so long ago.
Your murder speedster husband cupped your face, bringing your eyes to meet his icy blue ones. Eobard knew exactly what you were thinking. “What?”
“I remember when the two of us were planning things out seven years ago. You’d take me back and… we’d have that small wedding and have our honeymoon traveling to multiple islands. We’d explore everything, it would just be us and the open sea.” The genius scientist remained silent as he heard the slight ache in your voice. Seven years had passed and the two of you hadn’t been any closer to doing the things the two of you had discussed. You continued, “I know to a speedster seven years isn’t much, but it seemed like a lifetime for me. I just really miss you…”
“I know.” I couldn’t be there with you for a majority of time. Trying to outrun being erased or being executed. We could have had it all if Allen had just saved his mother and allowed us to go to my time. All that time, wasted. Time… And for that, I swear on my life that I’ll make up for every second that passed us. “Come on,” Eobard reeled himself back before tugging one of your hands for you to jump off the table. Your body protested at the sudden movement, an ache running through your nervous system.
“Where are we going?”
“Out, we’re going to get some of your favorite sushi and snacks and stay up all night by the fire until the sun comes up.”
“Wait, what about your whole plan with Team Flash? And Iris?”
“That can all go to hell.”
“But Barry-”
“With Allen sulking around I have no more use for Team Flash and Iris at the moment,” the Wells doppelganger explained, his hand giving your hand a gentle squeeze as he looked down at you with a certain glint in his eyes. You saw the bits of longing and adoration behind those eyes as he looked at you solemnly. “I just want to spend some time with you before we run from this time point.”
***
“One hundred and thirty pieces of sushi at your service,” Eobard announced, striding into your bedroom with three large-sized party platters of various sushi stacked on top of one another. The speedster also bought you some gyoza, crab rangoons, and takoyaki. You couldn’t help the little gasp you made and the giddy smile on your face. You set your phone to the side and pressed out the spare, old towel from it’s creases. You were sitting cross-legged on your plush bed with multiple napkins positioned by the glass plates. Eobard could literally see sparkles in your eyes and he had to stop himself from chuckling at how cute you looked right now.
What can I say? I’m a simple girl, food makes me happy. Along with books and other things that I indulge greatly in. I am not ashamed to be honest. “You really know how to spoil a girl,” you felt your mouth watering as you opened up one container. You chopsticks were at the ready while your speedster genius got his plate and chopsticks. “I’ve been waiting for this moment for centuries.”
Did she just use my line?
The dark-haired man could only cock an ironic eyebrow at you as you started digging in .The two of you ate in comfortable silence, you were on your phone while Eobard was flipping through for either Criminal Minds or the Discovery Channel. Setting his plate down on his lap, Eobard glanced at you due to the different audios that he heard. “Are you on that stupid clock app again?”
“What? It’s entertaining, plus it helps pass the time.”
“As in ‘pass the time when you’re not around’. Right?”
You rolled your eyes at his accusation while trying to mock your voice. “I’m neither confirming nor denying that statement.”
“You don’t have to, that wicked smile of yours says it all,” the genius nudged you with his shoulder to which you nudged back. You couldn’t help but drop the serious demeanor you adorned to grin cheerily at Eobard. The speedster helped clean up, putting the sushi in smaller containers to fit in the fridge while you tidied up the room. A thought crossed your mind as Eobard re-entered the room and shut the door. You were already under the cool covers, freshened up for bed in your pajamas as your index finger played with your pillow case. In a torrent of gold lightning, Eobard was all done and making his way out of the bathroom to climb into bed with you. The speedster had his arms around your waist, hugging you close as he nudged his head to rest on your chest. You carded your fingers through his silky hair and took in little breaths through your nose. The dark-haired genius shut his eyes as he listened intently to your heart beat. Cuddling like this always calmed his chaotically racing mind. He's running his hands over your back, sending a shiver down your spine. Eobard planted a kiss on your collarbone, causing you to giggle quietly before clearing your throat. The whispered words at the back of your mind tugged at your heartstrings.
“Eo?”
“Hm?”
“I’m scared.”
“Of what?”
The genius speedster pull away to look at you with curious eyes, he can sense the small flickering flame of worry in you. “When we go back to this new ‘corrected’ timeline, I don’t want Barry to separate us again.”
“They won’t,” the speedster murmured, the pads of Eo’s finger’s rubbed little circles on your back, “I’ll be damned if they take you away from me.”
You couldn’t help but respond with a small nod, but there was that nagging feeling at the pit of your stomach. Something unsettled you as the engagement ring on your necklace felt heavier. Your eyes drifted to see that Eobard was wearing his engagement ring on a necklace around his neck too. Not the faux one he had given to Iris, no. Eobard had hand crafted your ring and his years ago, something you secretly wore under your tops and shirts through the years. “You sure this will work?”
“It will. It has to. I’ve... run out of fast options that doesn’t include a speed drug. Barry’s becoming more and more like his future self, but I can still see the same boy from seven years ago. Confused and hurt. His connection to his Speed Force has gotten stronger, I’m merely using that to my advantage in this temporary time point.”
“.... What if something goes wrong? Then what?”
“I’ll adapt, I always do.” I have to, I have to fulfill my destiny and I cannot do that without you.
“I don’t want you to die again, Eo,” you whispered, almost in a pleading tone, running your fingers through his dark hair.
“I won’t, they’d have to take my speed and you away to seal my fate. To take my life.” Eo shifted himself as you pressed your lips into a thin line. He cupped your face gingerly. “What? What’s that look for?”
“I’m thinking.”
“What’s that beautiful mind thinking of?”
Your thoughts were falling right out of your mouth, allowing for your insides to churn with the notions your mind was conjuring. “I’m wondering how would your body react if your speed was taken away. What kind of toll it would have if Barry somehow found a way to sever you from the Negative Speed Force permanently. Barry was weak six years ago when he gave his speed to Zolomon, but you... yours is different than his.
Eo sucked in a little breath, his mind reluctantly contemplating such an outcome. It was something he thought of from time to time, should Barry advance enough to commit to that path. Swallowing thickly, the villain responded, “I wouldn’t be able to move much. It would take my much much longer to heal compared to Barry. It... would be hard to breathe. My mind would still be intellectually fast due to being a natural genius, but...” I would be a hallow shell of a man. He trailed off, not wanting to finish or tempt the thought that that outcome would be what his life could resort to. Speedless and alone.
“You’re not allowed to die,” you gave him a hard kiss, emphasizing your words and cupping his face to look at you. “You hear me? You’re not allowed to leave me like last time. You’re not allowed to lose yourself, to lose your speed.”
“You’re not allowed to die either,” Eobard couldn’t help but smirk at the blossoming determination on your face, a cute little and unyielding frown. “You’re not allowed to leave my side. You’re not allowed to give up on us.”
Deep down something inside you still stirred, but with the way that Eobard looked at you. The adoration in his simple touches, it had you feeling a bit reassured. “I love you.”
I made the moodboard, I edited and found the photos. I don’t mind if you use it as long as you tag me.
Rain drops fall through the sky, the subtle noise filling the silence consuming the house. Suspicion grows within him, when the door opens his eyes travel the expanse of the entrance, the moonlight coming through the skylight seem to be the main source of light as all the other ones are dimmed low, setting a soft ambience, reflecting that of romance. He wheels himself further inside, his eyebrows furrow in curiosity, he doesn’t see you anywhere around, making him wonder why you would be out this late at night.
The deaf silence is interrupted by the faint sound of water running, it’s almost imperceptible but he hears it over the rain. This is his chance to stretch his legs, to burn some of the speed cursing through his veins begging to be released. As he walks up to the decanter on the kitchen island with a drink in mind, his eyes catch the door at the end of the hallway, the one that leads to your room. The need to roll his eyes at himself feels to strong to resist, making him puff out a breath of frustration that seems to appear every time your presence grazes his mind. He walks up to the counter, grabbing the first glass he sees and serving the liquor into it, inhaling the scent before bringing the rim to his lips. His mind races against his will and suddenly the sound of the running water seems to loud and too important. He rolls his eyes, already knowing where this is going before the thought is born.
His eyes find the door again, trying to burn through it, taking an innocent peak inside. He knows himself, it wouldn’t be innocent and it wouldn’t be a peak. He clears his throat, trying to calm his suddenly raising pulse at the simple idea of what lays behind, the indecisive nature of curiosity burning him from the inside out, making him take a split second decision before he can change his mind. Mounting a stance his feet move at their own accord, he feels the crack of electricity as he speeds himself past the door. Once inside he looks around, he hasn’t been here since you started occupying it, not that he would visit it very often but somehow he noticed the details that weren’t there before, just as he notices the discarded clothes laying around, he hears movement coming from the other side of the bathroom door, his eyes snap against the wood as he walks in its direction, his hand grazing the end of the bed, his fingers tangling in a black garment, his eyes momentarily examine it before his hand brings it to his nose against all of his will, as if moving on their own as a way of punishing him, his nostrils filling with the scent of your perfume, one he wishes he could hate as much as he hates you, but instead it weakens him, catching himself a second before a moan can escape his mouth.
He throws the piece of clothing back to the bed before closing the distance to the door, his fingertips caressing the wood as he touches his forehead against it, closing his eyes as he takes a deep breath before committing to the torment it will bring him, as if he was a dead man walking, ready to enter the execution chamber. He phases himself, slotting his body in perfect symmetry with the wall, hiding himself perfectly from your view. His eyes land on the fogged glass door hiding you from him, he can still make out the shape of your body, the contour of your curves and the color of your skin. His breath hitches involuntarily the moment your body faces him, he sees your hands, traveling up your leg, moving closer and closer to the inside of your thigh and he looks away before he can see it reach its destination, feeling as if he may never recover from something like that. Ire fills him once again as the air becomes tense around him, his hands fisting at his sides, fury consumes him at the realization that he doesn’t have any control over his body, he can’t control the reaction you bring out of him. Everything he is, everything he has, has been taken by you and the thought alone makes him see red.
He leaves the room before he looses all of the sanity he has left, speeding to the living room he grabs the armrest of his chair, speeding it with him inside of his room, where he can lock the door and breath for the first times since he entered the bathroom. He whips around, and in two long strides he is standing in front of his bed, his hand wraps around the back of his neck, as his eyes close and his breathing quickens. He can’t, he can’t do this for much longer, he will break or he will break you, the thought of which could happen first tearing him down a little more, he is terrified for the first time in a long time at how easily he is loosing control.
His fingers trail down his neck, the room suddenly feels too hot, his finger hooks on the edge of the collar before pulling it, allowing some air to travel down his chest, he can feel the heat rising, the warmth taking over and the temptation to calm himself down feels the same way water would feel if he had been deserted in the sun for years. Only two more days before he can rid himself of you, he reminds himself. He drops the collar of his sweater back down, the movement allowing the trapped poison of your perfume to invade his nostrils, intoxicating him, only adding kindle to the fire in his pants while the thought of how it would smell on your skin runs through his mind, how would his nose feel running up and down the curve your neck, inhaling you in, as his lips would follow close behind, feeling the warmth of it.
He snaps his eyes open, walking to the bathroom in a hurried step, opening the faucet and splashing some cold water onto his neck and face, he needs to calm down. He is a man, not a teenage boy with a crush who he pretends to hate to gain the affection of. He doesn’t have time for distractions such as lust. Taking in a deep breath to stabilize his nerves, he looks at the reflection in the mirror, a habit he seems to be acquiring, he need to remind himself who he is. After a couple of minutes he leaves his room, wheeling himself into the kitchen, hoping to settle into some resemblance of normality that he so desperately craves.
Your voice breaks the quietness of the place, echoing off the marble countertops, Harrison’s name sounds so foreign in your mouth as you greet him, uttering words he doesn’t care to listen to. He offers you some generic answer while his eyes scan the area surrounding you, a movement you seem to catch on.
“I thought I could make us both dinner, as a thank you for your kindness.” He can’t tell if you are being sarcastic or idiotic but he doesn’t care for either, he doesn’t want to have dinner with you, but he knows there’s a façade to maintain and he can’t blow it all simply because he hates you.
“There’s no need to bother,” he begins to say before you interrupt him, making him purse his lips in a tight line.
“No, no I insist is the least I could do.” You persist and at this point he prefers to humor you.
“Fine, thank you.” He says, gesturing with his hand while his lips offer you the resemblance of a smile.
He notices the way you look through the cabinets, how some things are out of your reach and worry fills him at the thought that you may wonder how he reaches them himself. The thought never crosses your mind, he sees you going about, too busy in your own head to notice the way his eyes linger on your form, on the curve of your back, the nape of your neck. The silence feels asphyxiating, the air is too thick to breathe. Clearing his throat he moves his eyes away from you, waiting to see if he can get your attention.
“Would you mind if I play on some music?” He asks nonchalant, trying to pretend to be pleased and content, which he is failing massively at, to care for your opinion.
“Not at all, go ahead.” Comes your easy reply, your eyes never connecting with his as your hands are too busy moving things around.
The melody begins to play through the house speakers as he taps the tablet attached to his chair, he notices the way your head snaps up and moves in his direction as the classical strings of a violin begin to play.
“I thought you hated classical music, I don’t remember ever seeing you listening to it.” You comment, the accusation innocent in nature, almost as a curious observation, but it only triggers a fight response in him, a wild animal injured and defensive.
“Well it seems you don’t know me at all.” Comes his response, a pretentious smile playing on his lips as the proudness of finally having send a blow your way fills him.
“Yeah… I guess it has been a long time.” Your quiet reply finds his ears and suddenly his short lived victory doesn’t feel as sweet as he expected it to.
A quiet silence falls over you both, the only sound that can be heard is the quiet hum of the food, the soft smell of ingredients lingering in the air. His eyes move about the room, trying to stop themselves from lingering in you too much as the images of your body flashes through his mind, he feels the shadow of excitement beginning to grow on him and he needs to take control of it before it drags him through the roads of hell.
The food is served, in any other circumstances he would have enjoyed it, probably even commented on the preparation, but the most he can muster is a thank you, followed by it looks delicious. He plays around with his fork before bringing some to his mouth, he sees the way your fingers awkwardly move over the table, flickering softly over the surface as you look anywhere but him. Finally some courage seems to fill you as the question that had been nagging you all day comes out to the light.
“I was wondering,” you begin, catching his attention which makes him look at you through the top of his glasses. His face remains calm, neutral, not giving away any detail as to how he may be feeling.
“I noticed there’s no pictures of you, or Tess anywhere.” You complete the sentence, spitting it out, resembling a scare deer about to be hit by a truck, with fear and uncertainty.
He needs to think of his answer for a moment, knowing he had never prepared one since there was no one who was supposed to ever see this far into the house.
“I,” he begins, removing his glasses and rubbing his eyes in what may seem like pain at the memories but in reality is frustration and hate waiting to explode out and scream.
“I can’t bear to look at them, to look at her everyday,” he says, his voice barely a whisper, putting on that performance he knows you will buy, the act of the pained husband, suffering everyday for the loss of his life.
“I can’t look at her everyday and know I will never have her back.” He says, pretending to choke on his voice. Your eyes soften, sudden guilt penetrates you at your indiscretion. Of course he would miss her, he loved her, the words of Christina echos through your mind, how she mention she didn’t even see pain on his eyes in the funeral, but this, right here shows you how much he hurts, how pained he his just at the memory of her.
“I am sorry, I shouldn’t have asked.” You hurriedly say, trying to soften the blow.
“No it’s okay.” He wipes his hands across his eyes, pretending to dry the imaginary tears threatening to escape. He will do anything to sell you his act.
“Which reminds me, I have something to show you.” You excitedly exclaim, getting up from the table without even acknowledging him or excusing yourself, how inconsiderate of you. Even though he knows he is being a brat himself.
He hears your footsteps approaching the dining room, hurried steps as you approach him, holding something in your hand.
“I found it at home while doing some cleaning.” He sees the way your eyes shine with emotion as you offer him the item, kneeling down next to him as your eyes look up at his face, waiting for his reaction; it seems to be some kind of tacky bracelet, it’s silver, with a four leaf clover. What kind of bracelet is this? He wonders, knowing he could never have such a bad taste to pick something so horrendous.
“It’s… nice,” he looks at it, pretending to be interested he grabs it from your hands, your fingers brushing momentarily and he has to hold back the flicker of speed he feels forming at the contact.
“You don’t remember this?” He hears the disappointment in your voice, he is walking on eggshells here.
“You gave it to me, you brought it back for me, from your honeymoon with Tess.” You explain, and he feels the shakiness that has taken over your voice.
“Yes, you are right, forgive me, my memory seems… to trick me.” He is trying to save the situation but he doubts you will be satisfied.
“It’s okay, don’t worry.” You tell him in a hurry, taking the bracelet out of his fingers.
“I will retire for the night.” You continue as you walk over to your plate, taking it and moving it to the kitchen, he notices the way your demeanor changes, how you seem almost saddened that he doesn’t remember it, and instead of bringing him joy, it only annoys him further and not for the reason he wishes it did.
“Good night.” He nods, as his eyes follow your form as you sprint to your room. He sights, removing his glasses for good and throwing them on the table, he is fucking up big time, he is loosing focus and he is two steps behind in this checkmate, he is aware he is the one that made the mistake second to last.
