[Eon is sitting in front of his desk doing the paperwork he always does. It's been days... no... maybe weeks since he last saw someone. He stops writing and thinks for a moment]
[He rummages through his desk and finally finds the catnip he received on his birthday. The Archivist snaps his fingers which makes the plant begin burning with blue flame. In time it all turns into neatly rolled cigar]
"Perfect... Didn't have one in ages... ah shit, if only ### was here"
[Eon stands up from his desk, an old vintage door appears in front of him. He opens it and walks through]
[The beholder stands in the middle of casino de Monte-Carlo. He takes a deep breath]
"Ahhhhh the smell of cigarettes, excrements, human suffering and a faint scent of pure ecstasy... I'll enjoy this" [The muscles on his face form into a wide smile]
[Eon's camera begins projecting onto himself and quickly changing the archivist into a full fledged human... somewhat, of course]
"Handy as always... Now, so many things to do. Where to start?" [He listens in... he hears the roulette spinning, slots turning, cards being dealt. This place sure is lively today]
"Hello, Sir, Champagne? Maybe a lighter for the cigar?" [A young waitress stands right beside him with a plate full of champagne glasses]
"I'll take both, if you would be so kind^^" [Without a second thought she helps him light his cigar. Eon takes a glass and she's off to other guests]
[He takes a big drag of his cigar and in quick succession makes his way to blackjack table. While taking a seat, he reaches into his pocket and pulls out a handful of chips]
"I'm in, I'm feeling lucky today"
[Next hours for Eon were a blur... He hopped between tables, from the rhythmic clatter of the roulette wheel to the tense silence of high-stakes poker. His luck was unnatural, and soon his seemingly small pockets, were overflowing with chips.]
"Sir? Eon, right?" [It’s the waitress, catching him off guard just as he’s leaning back in his chair.]
"Y-hic-up. What can I do for you darling" [Eon grinned, his human projection flickering slightly around the edges.]
"The manager of the casino has told me you're quite past your limit for today... I'm here to escort you out :)"
"Is it? Awh, well that's a bummer [He looks around. His temporary 'friends' have vanished, leaving him alone at the table. He sighs, pushing himself up.] Alr-hic-ight, alright. I'm going"
[He stands unsteadily, leaning slightly on the waitress as she guides him toward the back of the hall.]
"Oh no we're not going towards that exit^^"
[she says with a wink. With a quick, casual hand gesture, she leads him toward a heavy door leading to the courtyard. Despite the lack of a key, the lock clicks open at her touch.]
[Eon nervously fixes his tie and walks into the empty patio] "It's been a while since I g-hic-ot robbed... never in the casino at lea-"
"Shush, now" [she cuts him off gently.] The Manager instructed me to leave you here. He sends his regards, and he hopes to see you again, Mister Eon. :)
[She offers a final, knowing wave before the door clicks shut behind her, leaving him in the silence of the night.]
"Sigh" [The projection ends. The door appears in front of him, he walks through and is back again in his office]
"Heheee... that was fun. Stupid limit, I could've earned much more there" [He fixes his hair and ears, after which reclining in his chair]
"ZZZ" [The archivist has fallen asleep]
