Early Divine Council

In Cuckoo's Nest, before the Olympian Council can properly form (we're still missing like six members) the equivalent council is that of the patrons of the divine orders, which I explain in this post

Here they are:

Zeus, Patron of the Air Elementals Hestia, Patron of the Fire Elementals Demeter, representing the Earth Elementals in council in place of the Patron Gaia Poseidon, representing the Water Elementals in council in place of the Patron Oceanos

(Gaia and Oceanos are primordials, they cannot be bothered with council, but they're still officially the patrons of their orders)

The Children of Styx, Bia, Zelos, Kratos, and Nike, Substitute Patrons of the Warrior order since the appointment of Athena (Nike's domain combines Warrior and Messenger Order, hence why she has wings which is a messenger trait. Also Bia may have a crush on a character we already met and Zelos is married to a character we are yet to meet. Love the sillies)

Athena, Patron of the Scholar Order, and Themis, Substitute Patron of the Scholar Order since her appointment

Hera, Patron of the Keeper Order, and Hades, Patron of the Priest Order

Ichnaea, Patron of the Hunter Order, Iris, Patron of the Messenger Order, and Aloiphos, representative of the Healers' Order

(As a messenger, Iris also has wings, but they're on her back so you can't see them. Ichnaea is often an epithet of Themis but I needed someone for the hunters so... Aloiphos is not the patron of the Healers, he is just the head ot the Olympian Healing temple, and since there is no patron for this order, he is part of the council)

Cuckoo's Nest Maintenance Update

So for quite a while, I was really bothered by Hera knowing from the start that Athena was clearly Metis' child but never really being like ... so where is Metis tho?

especially with how badly she's taking it now that she does have proof, it just seemed incongruent with her character

I finally had an idea how to remedy this, and so I just edited the first 10 chapters up to the cubthena reveal to fit it.

New status quo at the beginning of the fic:

She had called for Athena’s exile after Zeus had thrown Hephaestus off Olympus, a recompense born out of grief and anger, and she had never really felt bad for it. Zeus had made the decision to think up a child instead of having one with her, his wife, and one that had the former queen's eyes, no less. However he had brought Athena into the world, he had done it thinking of Metis and Metis' child that he had never met, and Athena had been created in her likeness, even with a similar domain. It was a blatant disrespect to Hera as his current wife, and she had more than enough reason not to want to lay eyes on the grey-eyed girl.

Basically after that Hera slowly starts to doubt Zeus' story and wonders whether Athena's birthstory is a lie, until she sees cubthena and knows Zeus could not have manifested her with the right sacred animal, because he doesn't even have anything close to a soul domain and she knows how parthenogenesis works, and it's NOT headbirth shit
