Daniel woke up at dusk, stretching his limbs and sitting up from the uncomfortable position he had dozed off in, the death sleep having claimed him as he had been working on another one of his projects. The blonde ran a hand through his hair, wincing at the sudden array of thoughts that flooded his brain. He had forgotten to put up his usual blocks, and now, as a result, he could sense the thoughts of mortals nearby on the edges of his own mind. His Mind Gift had never been a strong one, moreso as he had chosen to ignore it, but... for the first time in decades he did not feel pestered, irritated by the contact with the outside world. His eyes widened as he took a moment to clear his head, breathing deeply. For nights now he had been thinking of venturing out for more than just feeding, but he had mostly ignored and dismissed the ideas in favor of building the structures he took great pride in. He glanced toward the table, and he felt a weight lift off his shoulders when he gazed at his finished project. He did not feel constricted any longer. He did not feel the need to start another mad, yet, at the same time, brilliant plan. He felt free.
He stood up, looking around the room - he did not have any belonging he felt he needed to take along with him. Daniel tentatively exited the chamber, listening quietly for any sounds that might give away Marius' location. When he heard none, he cleared his throat and called out, his voice cracking from the unusual volume he had used. "Marius?", he attempted, uncertain if the Roman would answer or not.
