This is how a fight in OP should be done imo- No long ass panning shots that take forever,

the damage doesn't take forever to prolong the runtime thus ruining the impact,

the characters progress,

the story is engaging,

the animation is beautiful (whoever animated Hawkins' hair deserves a raise),

the music and voice acting is great. You can FEEL Hawkins' losing his shit as he's forced to accept that Killer is in the right about him..and when he joins the missing arm club, and Killer's laugh is fucking horrifying...as it should be. It's an uncanny mix between laughing and crying that is just uncomfortable to listen to...so the VA did a great job!

I switched to the manga around fishman island but i was looking forward to seeing how they would do this fight since it was kinda skipped over in the manga and MAN they did it justice. I am one of the 3 Basil Hawkins apologists that exist and they did my boy good

(also I think the expressions he makes in this episode are more than we've seen in the entire series. He was completely deranged for some of this episode and the expressions were SO GOOD. This man has lost almost all sense of dignity which allows his stoicism while under Kaido and it SHOWS)
