oc quick drabble - first kiss
they’ve been sharing small touches, knowing glances, sweet smiles, personal space. It’s nothing more than being friendly... Nadya tells herself, but its all been walking that fine line just enough to make her doubt.
Jayde can’t help herself. Brushing her shoulder, squeezing her hand. Once she even risked the briefest, softest touch with the tip of her thumb along Nadya’s cheek. Innocent... except not. It felt more intimate than any touch before that and her veins caught fire, the heat speeding up Jayde’s heart. Holding her breath as she felt she crossed a line, but then Nadya’s cheeks flushed and she smiled and the fire turned into a comforting warmth like a sunrise after a cold night.
later on Jayde lingers in her room and Nadya feels an unspoken change in the air. A sort of static between them, not negative but a new and almost frightening feeling for her. The small talk they exchange is barely even registering in Nadya’s brain, their banter comes so easily and naturally by now, allowing Nadya’s quips to come out on a sort of auto-pilot mind setting. Nadya starts to stumble on her words once she notices Jayde has been moving closer to her little by little.
both of their pulses spiking like a large drum is being struck inside their chests.
The distance nearly closing and Jayde realizes what she is doing. What she wants to do. Nadya hasn't protested or backed away, but Jayde still has that voice in the back of her head like an alarm bell telling her she is being predatory. Jayde pauses, inches away but it feels like miles. She wants to give Nadya an out if she doesn’t want this.
“Is this okay?” Jayde whispers, her breath tickling Nadya’s skin. Nadya’s hands are tingling, nearly numb and she feels like the slightest move will scare Jayde away. Nadya replies with a very quiet “Yes.” and she’s not certain if Jayde heard her so she gives a couple clear nods, unsure if her voice is even working in this moment. Their lips brush together so gently that she thinks maybe Jayde is afraid of scaring her away too. It felt like Nadya was looking over the edge of a tall cliff with a foot hovering in the air and every nerve in her body told her to jump so she could see what it feels like to fly. So she leapt, pushing away both of their doubts and deepening the kiss.
Nadya’s fingers ran through her hair and god, Jayde could taste her. Nadya’s lips were as soft as she was and Jayde’s heart was soaring higher than it ever has before, higher than she thought possible. It made her dizzy so she gripped Nadya’s sides with trembling hands to steady herself, their bodies fitting together. There was a feeling creeping up on her then, one she couldn’t place nor one that she felt the need to remember at that second wanting to take in all of the girl in her arms. Jayde needed to remember this. Nadya might change her mind about this because, well... its me, and I bring nothing but trouble. She seemed sure now, though and Jayde would be grateful for any moment like this that Nadya wanted to give her.
it took a while. But some time later Jayde realized that that feeling creeping up on her was one she hadn’t felt in a long time. Of course she wouldn’t recognize it immediately...
it was home.

I'm just a living cringe compilation
I wish I was this I wish I was that When will I stop wishing Even then I think I'll wish for more This human disease of wishing for inconceivable things I wish it was gone
Adult: Now remember, when you're out on your own, don't talk to strangers.
Me: Okay first off, I'm 19 years old. Second, I have no other choice but to talk to strangers, let alone strange people! Like, how do you expect me to order a double whopper with no onions if can't even talk to the cashier?!
Adult:......
well that sucks
I only woke up like two hours ago and already all I can think about is dinner
If you assumed my entire life revolved around food you'd be right.
