So I have ADHD and am on medication for it. There are severe shortages of the stuff (thanks America 😒) so I've been switched through different brands.

Switched from Concerta 54mg to Xaggitin 54mg. No problem - that's a 1:1.

Now I've been switched to Equasym but haven't been able to speak to my doctor, who has prescribed me both a 30mg and a 10mg dose without further instructions.

I can't find what the equivalent dosage to my old meds would be on Google...

Stimulanzien sind oft die erste Wahl zur Behandlung von ADHS bei Erwachsenen und wirken in der Regel am besten. 

Eines der am häufigsten verwendeten Medikamente ist Medikinet® adult mit dem Wirkstoff Methylphenidat. Einen ähnlichen Wirkmechanismus aber in der Praxis weniger Bedeutung hat Elvanse adult mit dem Wirkstoff Lisdexamfetamin (LDX), einer synthetisch hergestellten Prodrug aus der Gruppe der Amphetamine. Bei beiden beginnt man normalerweise mit einer niedrigen Dosis. Dann erhöht man sie alle sieben Tage, bis ein Punkt erreicht ist, an dem die Symptome unter Kontrolle sind, ohne dass zu viele Nebenwirkungen auftreten. Meistens sind lang wirkende Stimulanzien am besten geeignet. Sie wirken 10 bis 14 Stunden, so dass man nicht so häufig Tabletten einnehmen muss. Sobald die richtige Dosierung feststeht, erfolgt eine regelmäßige Nachkontrolle, um sicherzustellen, dass das Medikament weiterhin wirkt und die Nebenwirkungen gering sind.

Finally got back on my medication after not having it since September (switching doctor's closer to uni to make sure I didn't have a supply issue only for my old doctor to lose the physical repeat prescription and delete the digital off their system)

And before the only side effect I got was a slight headache the day that I go back on it or day i come off it

But rn ive got some like period level cramping in my intestines & a lot of bowel movements

Idk if it's the meds tho since I've been ill and not eating properly until like 2 days ago and now I'm eating enough to have proper bowel movements

Equasym XL 10mg I have missed you but don't let this bowel business become a feature istg

Edit: I'm being dumb I just finished a course of antibiotics that's probably it i need to eat some protobiotics or something to restore my gut flora

Wow, at first I thought taking my meds for my concentration wasn’t really worth the side effects and prescription charges. But not taking them for a couple of days makes me see just how fucking useless I am studying without them.

Hi there! I take Equasym and it works good for focus and all. But I have anxiety as side-effect and it starts to be very annoying. Did anybody has a similar experience with Equasym? I'm usually an optimistic personn and feeling down because of the med is annoying.

Equasym is methylphenidate, which is the active ingredient in Ritalin, Concerta, Biphentin, and Daytrana (among others). Anxiety is a common side effect of stimulant medications.

Some people who have anxiety due to methylphenidate do better with amphetamine based medications, particularly Dexedrine. If the anxiety is too much for you, you can talk to your doctor about possibly changing medications, either to a different type of methylphenidate (sometimes different formulations have different side effects) or to an amphetamine.
