im going around asking friends and sxf stans this one question that keeps bugging me, and i wanna know what's ur opinion on it :)
question is: how do you think yor will react if yuri dies? and vice versa??
Oh, that's a heavy question! I honestly hope Yuri doesn't die, and since Yor is one third of the main family, I sincerely doubt she'll die.
But for the sake of it, Yor would be completely devastated, of course, and I think she'd try to get revenge on whoever was responsible for his death. Maybe Anya and Loid would try to change her mind, though maybe Loid would eventually propose he help her take down the people responsible, understanding that it's something she needed. It wouldn't be immediate, but it would be something she'd end up thinking she wants to get.
It would be a really hard time. Yuri is the only person left that Yor has had in her life forever. Though she loves the Forgers, it's just a different situation when it's a sibling, particularly a younger one. Yor raised him, sacrificed her health and youth for his sake, and she's proud of who (she thinks) he's become. Him dying would be devastating, because aside from the loss itself, it would also be the despair of a future lost, that she worked so hard to support. She did all that because she loved her brother, and now her brother is gone. Who is she after that?
Now in the purely fantastical scenario of Yor dying, it would depend on who Yuri considered responsible for her death. If by any means he blamed it on Westalis, or particularly Loid (after he finds out he's a spy)... then I don't doubt he would turn full-on extremist. Yuri's passion and skills combined are exactly what a dictatorship wants, and Yor dying especially due to actions made by the west would be just the thing to make them go "See? Those monsters killed your sister! They deserve nothing but death!" And as he'd be extra vulnerable and looking for outlets for his anger and grief, the west would be the perfect scapegoat, and his brainwashing would be completed, likely irreversibly so. For him, the thought of revenge would be indisputable; it's not a matter of personal outlet, it's a matter of justice. The Corrupted West shall suffer so that no other family has to break apart, and Yuri will make sure of that.
In a similar manner to Yor losing Yuri, it would be tragic, even more because Yuri doesn't have another connection like Yor does with the Forgers. He'd be left alone, knowing that he couldn't protect the one person he wanted to protect the most. Yor had given everything for him, and he couldn't give everything for her. It would always feel like an empty hole that nothing would ever fill - and he wouldn't want to. Not because he's satisfied, but because he would never forgive himself, and he wouldn't want to forgive the people responsible.
(anime only fan here, don't spoil me for the manga)
