If you haven’t updated your Tamagotchi Uni, hold off for now. There have been an overwhelming number of Tamagotchi Uni owners reporting an update failed error, reason error code 403. The error does not occur during the initial update, but rather the data update which is the second part of the update process.
Apparently this issue is not caused by your local connectivity to wi-fi, and you cannot reset your Tamagotchi to get back to carrying for your character.
We anticipate this will be fixed fairly quickly on the update servers. Bandai has not yet addressed this issue, and those impacted are unable to enjoy their Tamagotchi Uni. As we find out more information, we’ll keep you posted.
UPDATE: Bandai has acknowledged the issue is due to their servers being overloaded.
【Announcement regarding Tamagotchi Uni】 Due to the update released on Thursday, September 12th, the server has been overloaded with access, causing some functions to be unavailable. We are currently working on resolving the issue. We will notify you once the issue has been resolved, so please wait for a while.
UPDATE 2: Bandai has acknowledged that the issue was due to high traffic on the servers, and that this has been resolved as of September 13th, 2024 12:04AM EST. Bandai expresses their sincerest apologies and will distribute 3,000 Gotchi Points to compensate for the inconvenience. You can redeem this gift until Sunday, October 13th, 2024.
