I’m escaping life with crochet and headphones
An unspoken wish
In the dark mountains,
The deep valleys,
Where no soul hinders,
No dreary noises,
A place so far away,
A place so quiet,
A place that my weary heart desires.
To away from all the stress,
From all the insecurities,
To a place where the silences preach,
Away from these lands of lost peace,
These lands of lost love,
Which I wish to escape,
Enveloping my cold heart completely.
But they bound me with chains of responsibilities,
Pulling me back into the abyss of despair,
Filling me with fresh breath of life.

Is this not the true romantic feeling; not to desire to escape life, but to prevent life from escaping you.
Thomas Wolfe
Sometimes I just wanted to.. I don’t know escape life. To delve headfirst into a world that dealt with real-life issues to open my eyes or a world that was something else, something completely unreal. One with warring faes or roaming vampire clans. I wanted to experience new things and always, always, reach the last page feeling satisfied.
If There’s No Tomorrow: Jennifer L. Armentrout
Reading "You and Me on Vacation" by Emily Henry and boy did this paragraph pop out to me. I felt every line....
I never feel like my true self when I'm around people. I tailor myself to suit the people I'm with because I care too much about people liking me and not being a loser of disappointment.
I feel most myself and the safest on my own and have embraced my loner life. But its when I travel when I feel the most free and true to myself. No one knows me and the judgement of strangers who I'll never aee again doesn't feel heavy like it does at home.
Why Do We Travel? It is better to see something once than to hear about it a thousand times.
