My second piece for @royalcrownzine, Sanctuary! I actually haven't watched all of Sausage's Empires (though a valiant effort was made LOL) but I really love his building style and his love for both the medium and the design process was ever-present in Sanctuary. Also this ended up being the best coloring page while I was away at my regional conference :3

one of my favorite of my personal esmp2 headcanons is that all the emperors were from different worlds originally, but their hearts and creative sparks were tied to the empires world, and it just all yanked them into it. Like for example joel was a writer and storyteller in some kind greco-roman setting (likely hellenistic) who got really fuckin wine drunk, passed out in a garden, and woke up in what he exactly believed Olympus to look like with the powers of a god (his story's basically all featured self inserts and you bet he Mary sue'd himself).

With all this in mind. Jimmys world was the most simular to ours (likely an alternate history), and had very little to no magic, which is why he doesn't have an immunity to all the "lore" shit. Hes of irish-germanic-english descent (mother was irish and dad was half german half english), and was born in Eastern Kentucky as the third son before striking out for the west in his early twenties/late teens. He intended to be a miner, but along the way, he stopped in a town (likely in Colorado/new mexico) for supplies, and wound up staying there after he helped defend the town from bandits and accidentally fell into the role of sheriff. When he was transported to the empires world (after passing out from exhaustion at like 3am on his way home) (hes so overworked. poor guy. But also all the emporers were asleep when they were transported so he THINKS it was from exhaustion but nope he essentially got roofied by the ties that bind dimension), the world sort of. Sensed the fact he helped create this town (he helped build/repair/rebuild a lot of crap) and just dragged it all through with him. He hides it well but he is very upset by the fact his family likely thinks he's dead. Also Gaelic is technically his first language (learned it in tandem with English i think, hes not the best at it but he grew up using it a bit) and the fae speak to him using it.
