just. bones' little glance at jim when he says 'i choose the danger' because he's doing it for himself and he's doing it for spock but he's really in many ways doing it for jim because he signed up a long time ago to run around space being that man's carer and his conscience and his best friend and hell if he's going to refuse the chance to make jim whole again. but he also looks at him because he knows if it doesn't work jim doesn't just lose spock all over again he loses bones too and bones knows that and has to do it anyway
