What is it with early 2000s cartoons and writing strong women to objectively be massive bitches?

I started watching the walking dead, and I cannot stand Rick's wife. She gets into drama. She starts drama. She's just being a bitch. And we know she had the mental capacity to do better (she's not in shock or deep mourning like some others), but she keeps making the wrong choices.

I wanna be a girls girl, and give her the benefit of the doubt, cuz lord knows how I'll react in that situation. But Jesus, the way she sits on her ass and orders everyone around? Ish.

It's easy to ship Beth with people because she is so sweet and gentle and still sees the beauty and joy in everything so whoever she's with she brings out the good in them and the two of them have instant chemistry because she makes every situation seem brighter and gives them hope too but she shouldn't be shipped with someone just because they are "age appropriate" she was 17 in season three she should be 18 now she can be with anyone on the show including Daryl
