Why’d you delete insta?

What a loaded question! SO many reasons, honestly. Mostly to get away from that feeling of obligation to post, and the need to perform my life, you know? I’m trying to get into a better mental headspace for 2020 and it was making me feel anxious, because of that urge that you’ve got to always be doing something, showing off, living your life for other people.

I’m not ruling out getting it back in the future, just right now I needed some space, and I needed to stop thinking about what other people think, and just live my life for me. One phrase I heard in 2019 that I’m carrying into 2020 is, “Let them wonder.” Do people really need to see my whole life played out like an online diary? No. If they’re close to me then they’ll know, or they’ll ask. I want to be able to take photos/videos for ME, for the memories, and not to feel like I’ve got to prove a point to anyone else. (Which I know you don’t, but that’s just how I’ve been feeling lately.) This is the year of looking after myself, being disciplined, and putting my needs first for a change! 🥰

To add a bit more with what you were saying to that anon about them coming back.. didn't Youngbae say he's been carefully watching, researching and listening to newer groups so they know what they're up against when they come back?I'm almost positive he said that he's been learning new moves and techniques for them when they came back. Or was am I wrong and just like.. fabricated what I wanted to hear?

He said something of the sort! In an interview conducted on April 9, he mentioned listening to idol group songs on the TV he shares with his fellow soldiers. He then said he uses his phone to keep in touch with friends and family after hours and to “talk to officials from my agency and discuss plans for after I leave the military service.” Also to “listen to music from abroad that will help me learn the latest trends” and “look for videos of performances on YouTube and use them to plan content.”

He may have been referring to Big Bang or he may have been referring to his solo career as Taeyang, or both. Either way, it’s hard to view the interview as anything but positive, and until we hear otherwise, I’ll take his words as my cue to “prepare for the future.”

Important Note

Well it’s finally that time I told you all about a few weeks ago!

I’m finally starting my scholarship to travel around the world for a year! I’m so excited and nervous!

I just want you all to know I highly doubt I will be able to upload the comic on the regular schedule of Thursday and Saturday from now on. It’ll still be updated...but just rarely and sporadically. Basically, I’ll upload when I can.

Also, I will no longer be selling the Dream Catchers book since I’m going to be out of the country and I’ll be coming back in August 2018.

On a different note since some of you asked, the purpose of my scholarship is to pretty much go around and ask people why they like/create/cosplay anime/cartoons, especially those geared towards minorities, lgbtqia+, and other marginalized groups, etc.

I’ll be stopping in Australia, Singapore, South Korea, South Africa, and France. Who knows I may even add some more countries. But yeah/// This will be interesting... I’ll see you around ;)
