Electronics repair can be the next sunrise sector - @lawyer2ca®️ India has the potential to become the repair capital of the world, thanks to the rising demand for electronic goods, increased digitization, and high cost of repairs in developed countries. Manufacturer’s Association of Information Technology (MAIT) indicates that the electronics repairs market can create over 5 million jobs and generate a revenue of $20 billion per annum. Since India’s electronic repair costs are exponentially lower (and high cost of repairs in developed countries), we should strive to build several ERSO (Electronic Repair Service Outsourcing) start-ups over the next few years. Enable TAT (Turn Around Time) to be as low as 5-6 days, the government should invest in much-needed infrastructure and cargo ports, besides developing the shipping infrastructure. Furthermore, the current custom processes must be streamlined to enable a smooth logistics channel/corridor. The government can look at facilitating the establishment of institutions like the ‘Repair Club of India’. A significant advantage of a repair-led economy is that it helps sustainable development and reduces e-waste. ERSO should be perceived as the future of not only repair but also innovation in India. #ESRO #Electronics #Outsourcing #startup #startupindia #Lawyer2CA #Repair Source: https://www.thehindubusinessline.com/opinion/electronics-repair-can-be-the-next-sunrise-sector/article66175389.ece (at Neeti Bagh) https://www.instagram.com/p/ClX_9B8yU3P/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

COS-B – The first European Space mission in low Earth orbit
The mission consisted of a satellite containing gamma-ray detectors, which was launched by NASA on behalf of the ESRO on August 9, 1975. The mission was completed on April 25, 1982, after the satellite had been operational for more than 6.5 years, four years longer than planned and had increased the amount of data on gamma rays by a factor of 25. Scientific results included the 2CG Catalogue…

So I never see those posts about the holographic bags anymore saying how it was all fake but I totally got mine today, if anyone is still interested in all that.
Journalist Podcast with ethnographic research
One of my fave podcasts recently. Really great insight into some ethnographic research conducted by journalist Sarah Maslin Nir in NYC nail salons.

European pioneers: ESRO-1A and 1B
Paris (ESA) Oct 06, 2014 Forty-five years ago this week, the ESRO-1B satellite was launched. One of a pair of satellites that formed the basis of ESRO's scientific programme, ESRO-1B took to the skies on 1 October 1969. The main ESRO-1 programme was a joint venture between NASA and ESRO. NASA had provided the Scout launch vehicle, as well as the launch facilities at the Western Test Range, Vandenberg Air Force Bas Full article
