Here's a little history lesson. On the left is the legendary King of Pop, Michael Jackson. On the right is the 8th President of South Korea, Kim Dae-jung. The two connected because of their belief in world peace and respect for each other's humanitarian work. This was a photo taken on Kim Dae-jung's inauguration. Yes, MJ flew out to Seoul for this. It's incredible how two world-class figures in completely different fields connected for politics, ditto. MJ passed away five years ago on June 25th, while former President Kim passed away less than two months later on August 18, 2009. Whether you liked them or not, you can't deny one's achievements as a musician, and the other's fight against Korea's military regime, which earned him The Nobel Peace Prize. Real bosses, and real OGs. Though it's already been five years since their passing, @essenticnyc will continue to tip our hats (fitteds and snapbacks) to these world-class leaders. | #essenticppl | 1998 | #essentic #essenticnyc #michaeljackson #mj #kimdaejung #restinpower
