The Lovebraids Family

Dahlia Lovebraids: Dahlia Lovebraids is the eldest sister of Lily Lovebraids, though she was designed to be the original Lily Lovebraids. The earliest design dated back to 1989 with 80s style in mind. Due to the design being deemed too mature for the target audience, a change was made to make Lily look and feel younger and the original being renamed to Dahlia. Pierre did not want to abandon the original design, so Playtime repurpose her to be the first member of the Lovebraids family behind Lily.

Dahlia is taller than Lily with long, silver lilac hair styled in a low braid that circles her head that unfolds from the front to back of her neck. Her expression is usually half-lidded with a caring, easy smile. Her wardrobe consists of updated 90s “Girl Boss” outfits with some that suspiciously mirror Bonnie Tyler and the speaking versions tend to have lines that were meant to inspire young girls to be more with “girl power,” though some of the lines did contribute to the “Boys Vs. Girls” debates. Where Lily has star motifs on her clothes, Dahlia has the crescent moon.

Dahlia is seen as a mentor/caregiver for Lily, and later, Cosmos, throughout Playtime promotional material, often having to be the voice of reason when the two get into trouble or have issues, though she and Lily tend to butt heads from time to time.

Experiment 1467 The Bigger Bodies Initiative did not have plans for a Dahlia Lovebraids Bigger Body until a larger female body was needed after an accident on August 6th, 1995 when one of the Playtime Co. employees, a Playcare councilor named Jacquelyn Napier, “fell” into a vat of stabilized poppy gel which had devastating results to her human body. At the insistence of Ritterman and Pierre, the Lily body had to be altered to custom measurements to give the illusion that the employee was still alive, but decided that Lily's form was much too small, and Dahlia was chosen instead which meant an entirely new body needed to be made. This request spooked Dr. White and those working on the Bigger Bodies Initiative which led to rumors as to who this person actually was. The process was rushed due to immense pressure from Pierre, resulting in flaws throughout the body that were not fixed by the time the Hour of Joy happened. The innovations made for Lily’s hair that had been finalized the same day as the accident were implemented. Dr. White did not consult the Doctor during the procedure for the fear that he would be combative about the crunch time which would only result in time lost. The transfer of what was left of Napier was successful, creating Experiment 1467, and her unconscious form was moved to the Sweet Street Dollhouse for recovery until further notice around 9:30 A.M. on August 8th. The scientists were not given instructions on how to proceed with 1467's care and would not receive any with what transpired an hour and a half later.

Cosmos Lovebraids: Cosmos is Lily’s younger brother, fulfilling the typical pesky younger brother role. He wears “radical 90s” skating attire and is always seen with a skateboard in hand. His hair color is neon orange with his icon being a rocket. He was not part of the original plan in 1989 and was created to appeal to the young male demographic. He was slated for a September release in 1995 just in time for the Christmas Season. While he had not been released in doll form, he is found in promotional material with Lily and Dahlia.

Aster Lovebraids: Aster is Dahlia’s twin who is more androgynous in appearance. Their wardrobe consists of pieces that resemble pop/rock singer outfits from the 80s and 90s. Their hair color is pale blonde and their icon is the sun. While Aster made it past the concept stages, they did not make it past the planning stages or into promotional material in 1989, mainly because of arguments amongst the crew of whether Aster was male or female due to the androgynous appearance. Aster’s creator had left the team under mysterious circumstances, so Aster’s gender was never definitively stated.

Leith considered reviving the concept in 1995 as the Lily BBI was being worked on. It's unclear if it was meant for the Lovebraids' family expansion or if Leith had other plans.

(Aster is mainly here to be swapped in for more masculine/Non binary readers for anything dealing with Jacq/Dahlia's situations within the factory, including Reader X Canon, mainly because I'm non-binary myself.)

The Rebel Queen: The World of Thesmora

A/N: This is a short summary of key factors about the planet of Thesmora, homeworld of the Thesmori people, which is an original planet to be featured in my Star Wars Fic: The Rebel Queen. 

Location: Thesmora is a green giant planet. It has one of the smallest numbers of inhabitants in the galaxy, at less than 3 billion people. It is located near the Outer Rim Territories and shares many similarities to the idyllic world of Naboo.

Moons: Thesmora has three moons. Illis the larger moon famed for the prison fortress known as the Cairn. Yotai, the smaller moon which is used as a Military outpost base and a port between the homeworld and the rest of the galaxy. And the desolate Roh which was destroyed by asteroids propelled by the Death Star after the destruction of Alderaan.

History: Thesmora has been toeing the line between peaceful co-existence and all-out war, not only with the First Order and the Alliance, but also the Empire of old. During the first Rebellion, Thesmora publicly declared itself a non-participant and offered to host a peace summit between the warring sides. Privately, within the court of Queen Lenora Ordell, Thesmora had secretly sent troops and supplies to the Alliance Rebels stationed on Hoth while Duchess Maligma (the queens younger sister) used the planets trade routes to smuggle spies of the Empire into enemy territories -essentially playing both sides while never declaring loyalty to either side.

Hierarchy Thesmora is a matriarchal society, which means many in positions of power are women. Family names carry the maiden name and so do House names, those that marry into such families can choose to keep their own surname or change it after marriage. Princes can become Kings if they are the last descendant in a royal bloodline. If the Prince ascends the throne and becomes King, and is to marry, rulership will not be passed to the Queen by marriage, but rather, their heirs when they come of age.

Economy: Majority of the planet's income is sourced from the tourism industry. Other larger income sources are precious mineral trade, manufacturing and designing of starships and Thesmori silk production. Another large bringer of income the prison on Illis. Prison sentences are filled out with a productivity quota rather than time, this provides cheap labour. The Chairn was constructed during the administration of Queen Lexa II and finalised at the start of Queen Lenora’s administration. This took place after the rebellion and resulted in an influx of prisoners sent by other homeworlds due to overpopulation.

Populace: Thesmora has the largest percentage of living Firrerreo who have assimilated with the native human cultures of Thesmora. As a result, many Thesmorans share genealogy with Firrerreo's expressed by common phenotypes such as: two-tone hair colour, above-average height and the populations prominently tan, bronze to golden skin tones.

Politics: Thesmora may be a monarchy by design but there is a parliament that has elected representatives appointed to a Senate Seat. If a royal bloodline ends or a ruler is deposed, the seante seat is in charge of electing a new Queen from any of the main four houses: Ordell, Kiddé, Dejj and Balin.

Trivia: Despite its small population number, Thesmora is home to some of the galaxies finest engineers, pilots and spies. Thesmora has a miniscule deposit of Kyber crystals. It is rumoured that the planet once housed a single mining sight for the Jedi focus-crystals until it mysteriously collapsed. The resulting effect of the cataclysmic event was the formation of a great crater called the Shallow Pit. The Shallow Pit is a naturally occurring trench-like structure that many pilots use as an obstacle course for an extreme racing sport called the Hurtle.

Iacon's Red Light District hadn't seen much changes over the course of the war. The brothels, bath houses, and tea houses were better at adapting than most would ever give them credit for. Some closed, of course, and new ones opened in their stead. No one would lie and say things hadn't seen some improvements as well as some set backs. There was much that lied in the glimmering, shaded district that most didn't want to confront. No proper mech wanted to admit they even knew about the place, let alone that they frequented it.

Still, some of the various establishments still had a respectful if not reverent reputation within the upper circles of Cybertronian society. These establishments boasted of Courtesans, not whores or escorts. The distinction may be lost on many but the difference still remained. Courtesans were respected. They could choose their customers, could choose whether or not to entertain their need for interface, and carried themselves with the same grace and expectation of any of the shimmering crystals that had once belonged in the Towers.

And among these Courtesans one particular House boasted of a Courtesan who was also a prime. A mere rumor, of course. For what Prime would choose to take up such an occupation.

And yet, Redstrike still happily made 'The House of the Golden Spark' his home and readily took on clients and customers alike. Whether the rumor of his primehood brought them in or his looks and skills, he was a popular commodity. It was said that simply sitting down with him for tea could cost the average mech three month's wages. And it would be worth it, if only to be graced with his wit and beauty.

So if a bot happened to come across the shimmering black and gold building, half buried beneath carefully maintained cyber-organic plantlife and found themselves within The House of the Golden Spark. Well, then they might just spot him from afar, drifting past in his veil, silks, and gleaming, golden accessories.
