I thought it was kind of universally given that people relate to fictional characters in terms of their personality/traits/general situation/etc., rather than to the actions they commit prompted by the highly specific context of the narrative they operate in (settings which, more often than not, have absolutely no bearing on our reality), but I guess not???????

I mean, by that logic, I and about a third of my followers have been fighting in an intergalactic war lol. I have also apparently conquered Ba Sing Se, led the last samurai charge in Japan, gone steeple-chasing across the rooftops of France with severe political implications, killed my whole family and subjected you to a mind-fucking nightmare, have hunted alone in a desert wasteland with a hole in my abdomen for centuries, have my own kingdom and a kirin to ride around on, and that’s not even half of it.

I have, however, gone rogue on my school and do plan to one day exact revenge on my instructor somehow, so there is that. I only follow in the footsteps of the best of us XD

what is their worst fear?

failing his clan is a huge weight on his shoulders, even more so after leaving to join the wardens. he very much blames himself for the loss of tamlen, and the thought of being the cause of another death, of causing someone to be hurt…it plays on his mind a lot. he has a duty to his clan, and failing them is not an option

does your oc have a temper?

he’s generally very mellow, and can handle most disputes with a cool head. but constant noise and chatter and disruptions wear quite quickly on his nerves and cause him to lash out to put an end to it. the hunter and scout in him needs to be aware at all times of his surroundings and distractions like that could cost time and lives in dangerous situations. he’s not one to hold a grudge over something like that though, as long as the person in question understands his point. any kind of threat against his people or clan however, gets him heated very quickly. and he’s much less likely to forgive those kind of instances. should the offender survive the encounter of course

religious beliefs?

this is a bit of a…grey area for kier. obviously the dalish have a lot of important beliefs and lore and customs, and he does abide by them as much as he can, and he respects them and the members of his clan who take them to heart. but on a personal level, they’re not something he truly believes in. they’re important to him because they’re traditions that belong to his people, but he doesn’t fear punishment for not living strictly by them

height/weight?

he’s on the taller side when it comes to measuring up against other elves, and he’s in no means slight either. constant travel as well as all the time he puts into perfecting his archery skills have given him a lean but strong and fit figure

how does your oc react when they’re embarrassed?

kier is quite possibly the most shameless elf in his clan. he’s notoriously hard to embarrass, and on the rarest of rare occasions that it does happen, he’s more likely to laugh it off and quickly move on

give me a description of their family

with his father dead and his mother missing, ashalle is the closest thing to a mother he has. leaving her behind causes him a lot of pain. the other person he considers family is his childhood friend, nyssa (owned by @anariettas). they’ve been close since they were very small, and he most definitely considers her to be his sister. so no blood family left but it’s not an issue that causes him any great hurt or crisis of identity. he considers the clan his family first and foremost

☼ (appearance headcanon)

he generally keeps his hair short simply because he feels it looks more professional, but with all that’s going on, he doesn’t exactly have time to keep up with that. so it grows out, and begins to curl, the sun gives it a lovely sandy color, and his fair skin begins to freckle like he never knew it could. the luke that looks in the mirror is one very different to what he usually sees, and honestly? he likes it. makes him feel free and just a little bit reckless

♥ (family headcanon)

he’s an only child, but when he was younger, he wished a lot for a brother or sister. his parents were very strict, and as a result, he didn’t really have too many friends growing up. he always thought a sibling would mean he’d at least have someone his age he could connect with and have fun with, someone his parents couldn’t keep him away from. even a little as an adult it’s one of those things he sometimes daydreams about; having a brother or sister to depend on and be there for, someone who would make him feel a little less like it was him against the world when it came to dealing with his parents’ difficulties

♡ (romantic headcanon)

he’s very…awkward when it comes to romance. his parents weren’t a great example of what a loving couple should be, both of them very much solitary people within their marriage, and not having many friends growing up, just socializing in general is something he struggles with, throw romance into the mix and he’s a lost cause. with him being gay too, it’s only really when he’s away at college that he can even think about exploring that part of himself. lucky for him, his awkwardness can be rather…endearing

the chantry explosion is another event that tomasin can’t push down her feelings in regards to. she’s andrastian herself, and she’s always spent a lot of time within chantry walls, whether in kirkwall or back home in lothering. watching it destroyed in front of her very eyes, feels like a slap in the face. not just to her faith (and sebastian’s too) but to all she’s tried to achieve in kirkwall. she’s spent years trying to keep the peace, to help, and it’s all blown to smithereens right in front of her and she’s powerless to stop it. she rounds on anders and tells him exactly what she thinks of him. it’s not in any way polite or ladylike. (leandra would have been so disappointed)

☮ (friendship headcanon)

she’s the type to have a few close friends, as opposed to a great horde of them. even within the circle of friends she has, she’s closest to fenris and sebastian. and she’s fiercely protective of those she cares about. upset her, and she’ll bottle it up, act indifferent to it, what do a few words matter to her, but say the same about her friends (fenris and sebastian especially) and she will stand up for them. no matter who it’s against. even within the group itself

☆ (happy headcanon)

discovering her magic as a child was something that probably should have scared her. and it did, a little. but it was also something that brought her even closer to malcolm. having something like that in common with him, it was like their own little secret. and she loved learning from him, practicing her magic with him, spending time together as father and daughter. she cherishes those moments with him all the more after his death

kier was a bit of a troublemaker as a child. not in an…awful disruptive way, but he was definitely a lively boy who gave ashalle a good run for her money. small pranks, sneaking away from camp to explore their surroundings. i headcanon he was most definitely the ringleader amongst his band of friends, and the rest of the clan always knew exactly who was at the foot of anything happening. he was also a charming child though, so scolding him was a difficult task saved for ashalle…who could never really manage it, bless her
