having anxiety dreams the night before i see extended family is like, fairly normal for me, but getting secret top surgery has unlocked a new genre of extended family anxiety dreams that i guess i will call Shirtless Emergency Dreams.

Other peoples’ interpretations of you are not your responsibility, because you cannot control them. The version of you that somebody makes up in their own mind is not your problem. Somebody incorrectly perceiving that you have done something wrong when you have not actually done that thing, or thinking you are scum-of-the-earth evil due to misinterpreting your behaviour and refusing to be corrected, means nothing because their perception of you is not aligning with reality. It is not a reflection on you, it says nothing about your actual morals. It isn’t real. Don’t beat yourself up over it.

As cheesy as it sounds, all you can do is your best. Use your own judgement, do what you think is right, do things you can feel proud of yourself for, and don’t worry about some random asshole thinking you’re Satan when you know for yourself that you are not. You could be a literal saint and there will always be some miserable fuck who’d still think up a reason to hate you, just because they enjoy being pissed off or something.
