What if

At some point earlier, Ash sent over his Hoenn or Sinnoh hat to Ambipom while she's at the ping pong training center because he no longer wore either hats, so she could remember him by for old time's sake?

Day 476 - Eteboth | エテボース | Ambipom (Shiny)

Eteboth possesses two tails with gigantic hands at the end. Unfortunately, it has lost some of its grip from when it was a baby, but what it’s missing in grip and dexterity, it makes up for in strength and endurance. No longer does it need to rest after using its tail’s hand, Eteboth can fight all day.
