home for christmas 🎄 Making small spaces cozy without being cluttered can be tricky especially during the holiday season when gifts and garlands are a-plenty! This year we opted for a beautiful handmade garland that I picked up from the @oliveateliers pop-up at @theunlikelyflorist and it is just gorgeous. Gifts were wrapped with washi tape and ribbon so that they’re easy to unwrap, won’t ruin the paper, and can be reused next year. Some of my Faves from the daywear collection, made with Tencel Lyocell fabric ♻️ Tencel Lyocell is produced from sustainably sourced wood by environmentally responsible processes. How is Tencel Lyocell fabric manufactured I hear you ask? FSC forest, Wood, Pulp, Fibre, Yarn, Fabric, Slow Garments ... YOU! 💚 How can you remember the Tencel process? Imagine you’re looking above a really big FOREST 🌳🌲 and above it in the clouds written is the letters “FSC” meaning forest stewardship council... Then you hear a loud chainsaw sound! 🪚 It’s a woman cutting up WOOD 🪵 ... You follow her back to a big machine where the wood is made into PULP! (Tiny pieces of wood 🪵) Then you see all of the FIBRE it’s turned into ... The Story of the Tencel season-less cardigan (swipe) ... 💚👑🧵✂️ Someone kept their basket well stocked of these hook and eyes that I managed to find & luckily purchase from my local charity shop! They are used for the closure of the new versatile cardigan 💚 The last picture is a picture I took in the charity shop when I spotted them!🪡 These hook and eyes completely inspired this design as well as the 90s bow for the top closure of the cardigan 🤩 You can see how they’re so simple to use! All items on my Depop are specially made by me in my at home sewing studio 💚 They are only made according to the design, colour and size that you choose ✂️ I wanted to let you know that for 3 days only, 27th (today), 28th and 29th Dec @depop are having 3 days of no fees! Which means the usual fee of 10% will not be deducted 🧾 YAY🥂 The reason why I’m letting you know is because there will be some price changes to my shop, due to Brexit and the extra costs of my importation of fabrics and customs charges (although a deal is fab there will still be charges applicable) & Royal Mail postal costs increasing 😖 It really is so hard as a business to increase prices when you’re trying to make your products as accessible as possible to everyone 👑 I hope you understand with me being as transparent about the process as I can that, this is not for some pennies in my own back pocket. Christmas 2020 🎄 Evening!! Woah I left this post too long, so sorry 🪡 So it’s over! The Christmas rush is complete (since Friday!) 🍾 I can’t explain to you this huge adrenalin rush you get with lots of orders and garments to sew - then a jet lag feeling hits you when it’s all over 😴😅 (Who knows if I’ll ever experience real ~jet lag~ again🥲) So I slept a lot this weekend and then we was all slapped with the reality of what this Christmas will hold this year so didn’t feel right doing a post yesterday🎄🎁 This year has taught me so much but what I’m most pleased with is my time management, although yes I was working late on that last week, everything was sent in time and I could maintain my normal customer communications. Meaning all of your orders abiding by my Christmas promise, posted by the 14th for Ireland (pushed forward cos the dreaded word), 17th for U.K. should be with you for Christmas, there might be delays on your orders but being sent well ahead I do hope they get to you on time for the big day🎄I want to see you in your gorg Tencel bell sleeve tops! (And there was a dress version 🥺) I am a one woman show, just me babes & sometimes it’s hard but it just shows with your undoubted support it truly gets me through anything ✂️🧵THANK YOU!! This Christmas I changed my frame of mind, tweaked my spreadsheet & given myself more time & well... I was READY! So taking that all into 2021 with me ✂️💌♻️ The next 2 weeks consists of lots of admin, but I do have a NEW garment coming on Boxing Day that I hope you’ll have a cheers with me 🥂 It is the last NEW garment of 2020 at Slow Garments 🧵 This will also come with a NEW limited Christmas present from me to you in every order 🤩 (I love a secret 🤫) I’m really excited to enter 2021 and develop Slow Garments to be its best, and for me to be my best too.
