SHORT FILMMAKER BIO - DR. SAFI FAYE (Senegal) Known for "A Letter from my Village" (1975) and "Mossane" (1996), Dr. Safi Faye is Africa's first female #filmmaker. She also received a phd in ethnology. Coming from a rural village, she started out as an ethnologist who was dissatisfied with #ethnological films made by Europeans (including Jean Rouch), deciding to employ film herself to portray rural life in #Senegal.

In old Mongolia , shamans would attach cloth dolls or ongons as vessels or homes for their spirit guides (also known as ongons). This particular shaman’s coat has a red cloth dragon attached to it.I so want that dragon!
(Though I’m not particularly sure what kind of spirit inhabits that particular ongon.)
