Movin' Out - Billy Joel
Now she can threaten everyone else, instead of threatening me to finish this piece :D

Remember to water your houseplants~
Evidently we can't work it out I guess that courage ain't allowed Evidently you're not in the mood And everything I say just bothers you You built this fortress I stumble towards it

Words By Bangtan - August Theme “Inception”
Finished in December after sitting gathering (ironic) dust in my WIPs since September. To make sure I finished these without getting too overwhelmed I stepped back from doing 4 solutions (WBB didn't have any limits to their submissions anyway, I was just being OTT) to try and focus on just getting at least one solution for the theme out.
The Words By Bangtan theme for August was "Inception":
"At the beginning of the cycle of rebirth; watch your steps and where they lead, trace the former path but don't follow your greed."
I ended up going with translations of a line from "Moving On" off HYYH Pt1
했던 꾸질한 기억 잊진 말고 딱 넣어두자고 Let’s not forget but keep those pitiful moments
(Translated lyrics from Doolset Bangtan)
I did end up adjusting the english translation slightly, after poking around the translations of individual words (for example 어두자고 translating as "to go to sleep", which immediately brought the phrase "to put (something) to bed" to mind. As you can imagine, given theme of leaving things behind, it snowballed from there.)
Forget-me-Not flowers, the moss and lichen to suggest the long abandoned memories, and crime scene-inspired tape rounds out the piece. Personally it felt like a way to show the idea that old memories can become a kind of crime scene, to go back over and analyze over and over again, trying to work out what went wrong.
(Oh, oh-oh) There's nothing left to say now (Nothing left to say) (Oh, oh-oh) There's nothing left to say now (Oh) I'm giving up, giving up, hey, hey, giving up now (Oh) I'm giving up, giving up, hey, hey, giving up now
Imagine Dragons - Nothing Left To Say / Rocks
I don't know why, but the early Imagine Dragons albums just feel like good roadtrip, driving music. And for some reason the echo in the chorus here sounds like something you'd get singing the song at the top of a canyon.
(Tried to take visual cues from photos of mountains in Nevada, since the band originally hails from Las Vagas)
OH YEAH WHOOPS so apparently it's valentines day today and this was done as an exercise for a "Foxy and Boxy lettering" talk by Lizvolpi.
"Love you to Pizzas" (instead of "Love you to pieces")
Magic Rope July 2024
I knew I should've stocked up at the village. Too bad Magic Ropes don't work in the middle of a boss battle.
