Pokemon Card of the Day #2561: Escape Rope (Burning Shadows)

Escape Rope was given another reprint in Burning Shadows, being the same as it ever was. The Item had each player switch their Active Pokemon with 1 of their Benched Pokemon. The person who didn’t play Escape Rope switched first, giving a small advantage to the person playing the card as it allowed a reaction to the choice. Whether this was better than Switch was also an open question, as forcing a switch when the opponent only had one good Pokemon to pick from could be positive, but if there were multiple Pokemon okay up front it could actually be a negative. The choice was really down to personal preference, and lists using one or the other (or both) could easily be found. Either way, being able to switch was good, and Escape Rope was a solid card in whatever format you were using it in.
