tired eyes land on the all too familiar face, a soft yet sleepy smile gracing the blonde's features. a lot had happened in the past few weeks and ruby felt like her body was beginning to run on autopilot. it was no fault of his, really. that was truly the perks of constantly being on adventures that required pure adrenaline. she wouldn't change it for anything, but her entire being felt primed for some kind of danger and it seemed to be affecting her sleep schedule, which truly was fair enough! ruby pats the empty space on the bed beside her, offering him yet another smile. "well, we had a busy few days, didn't we? would be nice to get a few hours of shuteye before i pass out. don't get me wrong, i love everything we do, but i can't say that i'm not a little bit exhausted."

five had known that coming  back  to the commission  was a risk.   lying to the handler had never been as simple as he would have  liked  to admit,   they were constantly at silents odds,   always believing the other to have  something  up their sleeve.  this time,   her trick hadn’t been something she was doing at all,   at least not directly.   it was a person  :   june.   someone who five had noticed the instant he had arrived at the commission. 

he waits patiently in the empty room,   sitting atop one of the desks,   fingers drumming on it,   any minute now.   she’d followed him all over,   watching him like a hawk.   no chance she would leave him alone in some random room.   the door opens and he clears his throat,   ❛   i’d have to be blind  not  to notice you,   you know.   ❜   five looks her up and down,   ❛   let’s not waste time,   shall we ?   don’t pretend you haven’t been watching me.   i take it this is our boss’s doing ?   what’d she offer you ?   higher pay ?   early retirement ?   ❜  // @etoilebleu​
